Wigan trying to accommodate ? Remember this was 16 years after the first wave. I suppose the casinos attempt to accommodate was the Mods Mayday all-nighter May 79 which was absolutely rammed . I recall also buses from an oldies night going to the first Scarborough mod meet in 79 and causing a whole load of chaos also ! The two scenes have more or less been intertwined since the Twisted Wheel in one way or another and what that revival done was brought a more discerning crowd back to the casino at a time when the numbers were not good, lots of these were of course old Wheel visitors well “according to them lol ! It was a great time but short lived however the feel for sixties soul was carried on at Stafford etc so in a way it helped . I also think at the time it was part of a big melting pot soul Wise and no one blinked at the casino if you had your suite on lol !
