  1. But is it rare, cause I wonder if in a few weeks/months whether the record dealers/ebayers/american friends will make what they can out of it, then the interest wains and suddenly, bang, there all over the place . Chris
  2. What do you reckon to this then? youtube.com/watch?v=KE2orthS3TQ or type Duffy into youtube and check out the Mercy video.

  4. I've heard this record 3 times at 2 venues, two copies are currently on ebay, one at $250.00 and one at $299.00. is it me or are certain people trying it on? What is its true value? chris
  5. Just wondering what the price for this might be? chris
  6. Nice thought this, I play the Guitar and my son plays the Base Guitar, but alas time and distance will keep us apart. Best of luck with your venture. chris
  7. So thats why we left the northern scene and decided to have babys Wish they had left the Fountain alone. It would be great to have re-unions there. When we go to Nottingham today it seems so different to back then, thankfully the scene is still alive and has big as ever.
  8. Must admit that I think Nott'm soulies were the coolest looking soulies around, back then of course, but like Spanner said since then we've all put on a little extra. Oh yah can't afford it either.
  9. Happy to offer my services regarding them 400 singles Malc
  10. The Bodega, forgot all about that mate, and do you remember Frodo's where you could buy Mead, (weekday Cross I think), bit folkish back then, So the reason Dunc left Forest is now revealled, to many nutters running on the pitch and scaring the life out of him. Always thought them Soulies that wore long leather jackets were pushers, always looked a bit suspect. My all those pressings we bought from Selecta disc thinking they were originals. chris
  11. About the only response on this thread that resembles a Youth Club list that I would recognise, most of the rest were being played at nighters and never heard them in the clubs I went too, but then again i went to Y/Clubs in the late 60ts early 70ts I guess some of the others mentioned on other replies had done the nighter scene, Wheel, Torch, early Wigan and moved down the line to the Y/clubs of the mid to late 70ts. Chris
  12. The gear we wore can be clearly seen in my photo on the left. Only things not seen are the Solatio shoes bought from Image in Nottm. Most of the Nott'm peeps seemed to wear the same stuff, Baggies (bags ) with large waist bands, most I had was about 6 buttons, short sleeved tee shirts, especially at nighters or fred Perrys, black bomber jackets, plenty of BRUT and ARAMIS aftershave, still buy Aramis, spent Saturdays at Selecta Disc, The Fountain pub and the the Forest game (if at home) followed by a nighter. them were the days hey, no responsibilies, loads of money and free time. chris
  13. don't know if it's been done before, but who would you say was your favorite singer, lead vocal or man/woman that to you typifies what a true soul singer should sound like. Post some files sos we can here them. I would but don't know how to do it. so for me its Levi Stubbs, David ruffin and the lead singer on the Imaginations, 'Strange Nieghbourhood', don't know who he is, oh yeah Millie Jackson, wow so good. Chris

  15. At last some common sense, crap records will always be crap records and this is utter crap IMO, should never have been near a NS/Soul turntable. a curse on those who ever thought of it, and has for it's nostalgia effect, there are enough great oldies that invoke longings for my youth without having to endure this. just in case your'e not quite sure, no i don't lke it
