  1. I wasn't going to pull you up about that ! I make allowances for anybody not from Manchester.
  2. That name is on my Gamble 45.
  3. Dave Raistrick on here has met and spoken to Weldon back in the 80's so he might have some idea of Weldon's exact position at the company. I always assumed he was one among other promotion guys, I've got a Frankie on Gamble with a Chips sticker and stamped DJ Copy.
  4. Got M- Teddy Randazzo for a mate at £80 inc postage off US eBay 10 months back
  5. True, but the fact that they're still up for sale time and time again IMO points to us being right. I guess for a lot of sellers it's a hobby so can afford to sit on them.
  6. Me neither. I'm talking about the cheaper end where it will most likely be double or triple what I consider the price to be or in less than reasonable condition, hence they just don't sell.
  7. My experience from selling when I had the outlet in Manchester and selling online is that if the record is the right price then there wouldn't be 10 copies to compare ! They'd be gone.

  9. Diane Renay- "Can't Help Lovin...." - D-Man £404
  10. I couldn't agree more, Bob. Austin's real name is Austin Allegro. Ex-member of the Cadillacs. He later joined Gary Numan's band and wrote their hit single "Cars". Tragically he died after being hit by a bus. I trust that sets the record straight.
  11. Sounds nothing like reggae ! There is a release of what I assume is same song but different version [?] by Guardian Angel which is something to do with Matumbi https://www.discogs.com/sell/release/3990623?ev=rb
  12. Really good Billy. Like that. Starts off using "Ting-a-ling"
  13. I'll follow up on that, thanks. I must admit I rarely listen to podcasts and radio stations. There's always something else to do. I'm new really to buying reggae though have bought the odd record down the years and had a very small 12" collection but lately I've been buying a lot. In my head something fresh and something easy on the pocket [£5-25 usually]. Still buy soul albums [mainly 2-step] and cheaper end of Northern 45s but I'm usually familiar with those tracks so excitement of something new is not there. Get them and just slot them into the others. Spend most of my time going through Discogs and seeing what's for sale and playing those I don't know [most !] on YT. Unlike the NS scene you can get a nice track for £1.99
  14. Veering more toward Roots. I'm more into a soulish type thing. Got this 12" by him too
  15. Been buying mainly 70's/80's reggae
  16. I get what you're saying but we've all bought stuff to mark up. This is just on a huge scale.
  17. Slippery slope, mate. Clare demanded I buy her twin decks for dj-ing. Luckily I managed to replace one deck with a hot plate so at least it wasn't a complete waste of money as she can still rustle up a hot snack if I get peckish during her spot.
  18. Not that Pauline Bradshaw again. I said ages ago standards were bound to drop once we allowed female sellers access to our closed shop.
  19. That was sold at M- ? VG or less IMO. So am I right in thinking you're saying he's a conservative grader and if you're happy with UK sellers grading [a lot of which is ambitious to put it politely] you'd be very happy with Jason's ?
  20. The 45 on Capitol is "Reach out". From '69 according to Discogs Used "Listen to me" from '67 as b-side. Not sure if same track or re-recorded it.
  21. EX UK is VG++ USA isn't it ?
  22. But his ads contain his grading scale. According to him VG is not NM ?
  23. Lou is darkhorsesmoke
  24. He sells a lot on consignment doesn't he ? Open to abuse. A lot of the listings are VG and below. Lucky if it's VG+ and above. Prices he gets for common albums in poor condition baffles me. Tbh I just scroll past nowadays.
