  1. To be fair guy in video is a lot younger. Older you get the less nimble ? But thanks for the video. The thin girl in the short dress was worth it alone.
  2. Customs must keep a record to ensure PO collects duties owed ? Computerised ? Highlights frequent users ? Just a thought.
  3. I wonder if the number of packages coming through the door gets you noticed. I get say six per year from USA usually 50-ish albums and 20-ish 45s. Whilst mate declares low I can't hide postage which is usually around $100. Not got charged yet.
  4. Rod where did all the stuff in the 70's in manchester come from that searling and you and dave macadam all went through. wasnt that radio station stuff. Got it from Indigo Studios but where it originated no real idea. From the vague indications we got from the sellers it was more to do with TV. I remember Plymouth Grove being mentioned and TOTP was based around there from 64-66 so maybe that.
  5. But wouldn't there be more than one library ? I know a guy who got stuff out of BBC Manchester [not 60's]. And then there are overseas stations which I guess were operated by BBC World service or whatever. Scal on here got in one and there were tons of UK 60's demos. Which they wouldn't sell unfortunately ! Posted whilst you were typing, Chalky.
  6. Always assumed so but no idea really.
  7. Turned this and WB up in early 90's I think from a box under the table in Ye Olde Clocke Shoppe in Kannapolis. There were about three boxes full of oddball NC labels. Sold WB to Sam and I think Phil Wainwright got the other title. Pretty sure I left Ronnie Lowe. Vocals let it down.

  9. 24 hours to find my baby
  10. Thanks Shufflin. Appreciate that. ROD
  11. Just got WXB mix and gonna compare to WXL. To save time anyone know difference and what I should be listening out for. Right now having played WXB sounds same to me but then not played WXL back-to-back.
  12. VG- A number of visible imperfections; the presence of a considerable number of light scratches will force a VG- grade, as will the presence of significant isolated defects such as scratches deep enough to be felt with a fingernail. Prices he gets for VG and below records are crazy.
  13. Dreadful news, Derek. Only sold him a 45 around 6 weeks ago and had a chat via PMs. A nice guy.

  15. You can't generalise really, Steve. The guy with 500 boots, plus legit releases and cheaper originals probably has a passion to own what he likes. I can understand that more than say those I've met over the years who tell me they don't buy records. And Timbo, I guess a lot of these people are older so vinyl is their preferred medium on which to listen to music. I have some CDs but they tend to be those featuring unreleased tracks like the Motown series. I look on CDs as the 2019 equivalent of the C90 cassette - I've got the track "on tape" but I've not really got it in my collection. I have no idea how prevalent buying boots to play out is. I read about it on here but I'd have thought most were purchased for home use.
  16. I hope you don't mean me. I'm explaining why in the main some people buy bootlegs.
  17. As I said they're buying what they like without spending large sums. Tbh I've only a vague idea of what gets booted, Going back to programme it showed Jackie Edwards. Original is expensive and even legit re-issue from 70's seems to be £40+ [see Discogs]. so £8-10 is a bargain if you're looking at getting a copy cheap.
  18. If that was the point of the programme then as usual when it comes to NS it was mostly wrong. There was the Levine thing where counterfeits do seem to have been passed off as originals but apart from that, as Steve G states, people know what they're getting. No one is buying the FW 45 shown thinking it's the original. They might think it's legit which is a different thing altogether. Guys selling photocopied labels on UK eBay usually state that in the ad. Yes they often fetch daft prices but not original prices. I don't think there is a large gullible market out there. Just people who don't want to spend large amounts of money on buying records they like.
  19. That's what I was wondering. As R/R said US buyers are paying sales tax. I am too as I use DW's address in NJ. Not sure on UK buyers but easy enough to check latest payment by PayPal if you bought off US eBay and delivered to a UK address. To B/Soul I wouldn't have thought it makes any difference to customs charges over here. For me it's a small extra expense balanced against postage costs which are say 40% cheaper sending via DW rather than direct to me. If UK buyers with a UK address are not charged sales tax then no idea why DM gets charged in Spain. He lived in USA for a while. Old info held by eBay ?
  20. I've been paying sales tax on eBay for around 3 months now, maybe longer. I thought it was because I used a NJ address for my buys off US eBay.
  21. They're all modern but I associate 45s you mention more with 2-step/rare groove/London scene which has kinda merged into ours rather than Northern 70's style from Mecca or late Wigan. TI is more "I'm so happy" vein. Immediate, bouncy, sing-a-long. Knew on first hearing it would be popular.
  22. I assume the winner of True Image already has the Louis Vuitton handbag to dance around.
  23. Sorry, sounds like a Eurovision entry from the 70's
  24. I sold 2 copies on here for mates at £150.
