  1. I completely forgot about DG. He wore glasses. A pattern developing.
  2. I read some of the blurb. I quite liked the notion that the reason NS never got the coverage, unlike punk, was because we had no intellectuals with access to the media shaping the musical narrative. I mean, I've read your posts and you're trying. And what about Stuart Cosgrove. He wears glasses FFS !
  3. My wife should run it - she's right every time.
  4. Lost me there. I was talking about Ralph's in Stockport, where I spent quite a lot of time not doing my A-levels. I did go to Manchester Ralph's quite a bit.
  5. Doreen worked at Stockport shop now and again so I guessed Zan turned up there at times as they were an item at the time. As you may be aware I used to wag it at Ralphs. Carl was the black guy ? He used to write my notes to school. As I was there quite a lot around 1970 I do remember Little Louis and Scotch Joe used to come around. They sold me Tymes "Here she comes" and Gloria Jones "Finders Keepers" on UK demos for £1 each. I'd never heard them but the guys were too big to say no to ! And I'm 99% sure I got EJ from Spin Inn. I must have mentioned all this to you over the years.
  6. Not keen on either but MLIR is the better side IMO.
  7. £482 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Northern-Soul-45-Herbert-Hunter-I-Was-Born-To-Love-You-Spar-mp3-/313262209295?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&nma=true&si=O8hpnUzbRShMlYJyVV25FKVA2Zo%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc £440 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Northern-Soul-45-Herbert-Hunter-I-Was-Born-To-Love-You-Spar-mp3/383685426170?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649 Both from Carolinasoul but look to be same record so maybe bid for £440 not honoured back in September ?
  8. Yep, you do have to wonder sometimes who exactly is bidding for some of those records that appear in the auction.
  9. I disagree. Think it would have made the grade anytime in last 45 years. Reminds me somewhat of that Earnestine Eady on Phil L A except this cut has more of a tune/melody and nice female and male backing vocals.
  10. You should get a discount for bulk !
  11. Yes I have noticed his feedback on eBay and have been put off a couple of album purchases. I did get that mintish Barbara Mills on UK Hickory off him for $100 around 4 months back so I guess odd bargain or decent price does turn up.
  12. To be fair his VG+ is more Ex to M- in my experience. He states that in his ads where he explains his grading.
  13. Yes of course. Done my research and I have £7.3s. 6d available so won't be bidding. I was just struck that an "unknown Northern" on eBay is actually good for a change. Usually abysmal.
  14. That's what I thought too. I've still not got the hang of programming the VCR.
  15. Beyond my pay grade but did think somewhat Detroity but then kinda like Irma & Fascinators "You need love". Not got a clue.

  17. Just now Danny Wagner demo at VG [but looks OK] for $1.50 US eBay Buy-it-Now.
  18. Going off writer. Seems Charron worked with BJ Thomas.
  19. Not great is it though I now realise that Chuck's version is a cover of B.J. Thomas which I didn't know before.
  20. Different song
  21. Judging from the number of VG and VG- 45s I've noticed going through US eBay for not inconsiderable amounts recently, the guy should soon be inundated with work and will be opening a chain of outlets if it carries on.
  22. Finished at £1450 but only 2 bidders at that. Other 3 around £1000
