  1. With all this pedigree it has to be good, but no sound clips, this could be interesting, very interesting indeed
  2. Pete this has been annoying my little brain for years and your info was fantastic and look where it lead me, could this be it after all the people playing it and wanting to know Randy "Cajun" Hart, manager was Lee Majid who produced it (Brunswick connection) Manship quoted his voice of being likened to Jerry Butler, he has a familiar voice don't you think ? All theses IMHO connected
  3. £500-£750 (maybe more now) and hens teeth rare
  4. I knew it !!! Bless her, I bet she would use that for printing in those days and the mangel in the back garden in Lincoln for drying Colin's trousers
  5. Big Brother is watching us
  6. Rick Scott will probably know who did the first one
  7. It might be a Russian Hacker Tim needs to sort this (or may be it's a good advertisement getting us to talk about it!!!) It happens everywhere https://www.discogs.com/sell/item/425666913
  8. I am relatively new on this site and revisited "Man In Love" from my youth club days Started a little research and came across the BMI for "Let Me Render My Service" which dates as 16th Feb 1967 Guardian Music Corp Writers are Sylvester Bradford (sadly he passed when this thread was born) and Juan Gonzalez (Hispanic reference, as above mentioned) It might or might not help with the work on connections, but I found this interview with Mary Goldberg from 2004 and the Ferdie Gonzalez quote at the bottom may or may not be useful https://www.uncamarvy.com/Suburbans/suburbans.html Time, hopefully, to look again please with the knowledge base on here.....here's hoping
  9. Steve, don't give up, some folks still read books and I appreciate how much work you have done and must need to do to get all the info and get it published, it must be tough work. It must be as simple as some people collect CD's not vinyl or use MP3's in the "New World". I don't collect books and am one of the "hunt around" on the net for info. It's IMHO that knowledge should be shared as much as possible (especially on this site) and I love that some of the members on here know so so much and are sharing it for histories/accuracy sake
  10. Thanks Steve and to fill in the gap (thanks to Chalky posting the video) The other lady is Mary "Stegall" Lucas
  11. This is great stuff about this label Does anyone know who Bobby and Wallace were
  12. I wondered if Juanita Williams is the same lady that sang on Golden World (would make sense)
  13. Thanks Steve for the info was the Garrison release the Detroit's Honey Bees only release
  14. Did they include images to help spot it was a counterfeit
  15. Robb, AL was Al Altog who wrote for Judson Moore and The Scott Brothers, so that lends a clue. Smokey Hampton is Vandy Hampton who (If memory serves me right was in The Soul Majestics and I think The Impressions and The Chi-Lites on Inphasion Records, at one time). John Jackson, Bill McFarland and Clarence Williams were also involved with Alvin Cash and The Scott Brothers Orchestra (Toddlin' Town) if it is indeed that trio
  16. Just checked Discogs and there isn't one for £200, there are loads of copies for sale and sadly I suspect this record will get lost in history and will always be a cheap record to buy in the long run
  17. You don't happen to know who did it and did they do any others ?
  18. Isn't this a bootleg with Linda Jones on the other side ?
  19. A quick search on Google bought up this and opened my eyes (again) https://doo-wop.blogg.org/the-cookies-aka-the-palisades-4-aka-the-stepping-stones-aka-the-cinder-a116515380
  20. I always thought they recorded under the names The Cinderellas, The Cookies and The Palisades out of New York, but The Garrison release might just be a same name different group ? I think Dave you are referring to Honey And The Bees
  21. This is a nice link of label https://rtr.moonfruit.com/garrison/4555786523
  22. Slightly off topic, can you supply a bio of the band please, as there is little know about them (as you got it direct from them)
  23. I have always loved those 2 boys ....however what they did to the RADIO EDIT version was just sadly not good enough (too much Todd Terry influence IMHO), it's too fast They were basically Latin boys and should have stuck too it buy the CD and weep in your cornflakes
