  1. There was a great thread in 2012
  2. It was April 1976 and then done again on yellow label with same matrix details
  3. I am very surprised that no one has reissued the Del Rays as everything else is getting a press, it seems, unless I missed it.
  4. "The Crampton Sisters were Peggy and Pat and grew up in Bloomfield, New Jersey. Peggy had won many talent contests, by age ten. After high school, she attended the prestigious Julliard School Of Music in New York City and studied classical piano. She studied under Miles Davis, Thelonious Monk, Oscar Peterson and others. It was then that she and sister Pat formed the Crampton Sisters and had quite a local following. They even performed on American Bandstand." https://tsotimes.topshelfoldies.org/?p=176501625
  5. As with most companies nowadays the message is cascaded down. "Put them off and we will chance they will give up". Stick to your guns and claim for your time as well, time is valuable.
  6. Yet there is no publishing on the labels perhaps it wasn't required in France
  7. From what I have read NSC was 1989 onwards and prior was United Sound Systems
  8. The Esquires never escaped on a single but did get issued on the 1968 comp
  9. Known on the scene for the B side "If This Isn't Love" I Wonder how many people have noticed the lowrider A side of this 1967 release There appears to be mistake with the title on "most" issues and Demos (White and Yellow) being "I Waited Too Long" with credits as Neil Sedaka and Howard Greenfield, which was recorded by Lavern Baker (1959) All the videos I have heard seem to be "You Waited Too Long" crediting (on one issue pictured below) Clarence Burke and Gregory Fowler, which was sung by The Five Stairsteps. I regret selling my copy and being able to listen
  10. It was only 2 weeks ago that Elsie told me Pat Lewis and The Debonaires (Joyce Vincent , Elsie Baker And Dorothy Garland) were the backing on Agent, recorded @ Golden World Studios
  11. Your work is fantastic and such good detective work. Better than Inspector Morse.
  12. Kip does not seem to have a high profile on the net other than a webpage with a link to Discogs All records recorded for 45's as no masters https://kipcorecords.com https://www.linkedin.com/in/kip-brown-8357993b?trk=people-guest_people_search-card&original_referer=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.linkedin.com%2Fpub%2Fdir%2FKip%2FBrown
  13. Seems he was a little controversial https://www.latimes.com/archives/la-xpm-1989-05-14-me-224-story.html
  14. This site says he started it https://www.waybackattack.com/mercy.html
  15. I read on Discogs (link below) that someone asked if "all" Lee Jeffries releases were licensed and Lee stated 19 Sept 2018 that they all were. Hope that helps. https://www.discogs.com/label/157322-Sonic-Wax-Records?page=1
  16. Not all, but some of the info was posted on Discogs 8 years ago. This is much more informative, thanks
  17. Elsie Gray has informed us that the backing vocals were Pat Lewis And The Debonaires, Joyce Vincent, Elsie Baker And Dorothy Garland.
  18. I remember Nev playing it at The Palais in Notts
  19. I always wondered if the label should be "Alligator Records" what with the design. Below it mentions from an article when Miles passed that Miles recorded W.C. Carter on Alligator Records. "As a producer, Miles is acknowledged for being an integral part of cultivating the voices and successful careers of; Little Johnny Taylor, Z.Z. Hill, Darlene Love, Lynn Varnado, Betty Swan, Brenda George, Ted Taylor, and other artists who are now and forever etched in the walls of timeless music legends. Miles had a deep heart and soul for intuitive lyric and melody composition. Testament to that are the many major recording artists of whom to this day, continue to adapt their interpretations from his profound book of songs. Among those artists are; Big Joe Turner (United/Cadet Records), Mike Bloomfield (Pilz Entertainment), Bobby Bland (ABC/Dunhill), Charles Wright & The Watts 103rd St Rhythm Band (WarnerBros), Prince (Parachute Records), Mick Jagger & Gary Moore (Atlantic Records), B.B. King (MCA Records), Little Johnny Taylor (Ronn/Jewel Records), W.C. Clark (Alligator Records), Ted Taylor (Ronn Records), and The Rolling Stones (Interscope/UMG)." https://africanamericangolfersdigest.com/dr-miles-grayson-passes-away/
  20. I think we need to be aware that not everyone is as "old" and "experienced" as some and I have told the story of when I was 14 and using my school dinner money to buy a Rufus Lumley and only years later finding out I had bought a boot. A lot of people of all ages have fell for it at some time and you only learn through making mistakes albeit sometimes costly. This one is going to be a pricey one.
  21. 45cat lists some and all "reissue" https://www.45cat.com/label/delta-reissue
  22. Ebay v Discogs depends who sells on which site
  23. A search on Popsike reveals a few more than the Demo sold over the years on Ebay https://www.popsike.com/php/quicksearch.php?searchtext=Obrey+Wilson+–+In+A+Woman's+Eyes&layout=&sortord=dprice
  24. I bet David would have got in a real "Huff" if he knew
