  1. Amazing how Tax simplification is never simple
  2. Indeed and I haven't been able to track Mike down (as yet). Your point about the passing of time, workload and memory is understandable, but as I mentioned previously about Peoples Choice, I have only just managed to find out the line up after searching for over 20 years (it started with Jimmy Mack), so its worth it on occasions. I am also trying to get the Villa Records story (Checkerboard Squares and Magicians) and one of the owners is in his 80's and asked me to be very patient as it was a "long time ago". The Stoppers may defeat us, as I mentioned before, but we might get the group's names on here, it would be nice
  3. Thanks and what really intrigues me is that we know there are lots of copies around and it was (likely) pressed on both sides of the USA and there plenty of demos, so surely someone somewhere has a clue ? Here's hoping
  4. I don't think Jimmy Beaumont could be lead could he ? Producers here again AKA The Skyliners ? Because some of you know more than I do and ever will, please don't shoot me down Remember the thing "If you throw enough, some of it will stick". That's the plan It's taken me 20 years (with help) to find the line up of The Peoples Choice on Palmer, so I don't want to stop on this one.
  5. Indeed and you may be correct
  6. Blimey, if you don't know buddy then I guess we can confine this thread to the bin forever I have asked all my contacts and nothing yet and the writers and producers have some serious pedigree for us.
  7. Nice link here, no mention of the group though, shame http://www.ripopmusic.org/musical-artists/producers/mike-lewis-stuart-weiner/
  8. I have said I am often wrong but this thread needs continuation for a result and it might have been a different lead on vocals Of course the writers and producers are all New York based https://opencorporates.com/companies/us_ny/204210 There are two different issues as well which is interesting perhaps East / West coast
  9. The writers and producers were also the same with Vicki Baines, Philly connection and all that, so my tiny mind wondered if they had had their name shortened, if you know what I mean Remove the Show and you have Stoppers ?

  11. She was indeed http://www.sirshambling.com/artists_2012/S/judy_stokes/index.php
  12. Bonnie was the first white singer in the Ikettes https://www.whereseric.com/the-vault/biographies-band-members-and-collaborators/bramlett-bonnie
  13. It is a brilliant post and I am not at all surprised it sold so rapidly. I always love labels that press names incorrectly Mr Weems would be well happy The production credit is interesting Pedrinho as opposed to James Shelton (Chicago). may it be a mistake or a remix perhaps ?
  14. When Willie was interviewed there appeared to be no mention of the group members, do we know why ?
  15. I love the fact that they use software to spot bootlegs so sellers use the other words to get round it Ebay have therefore caused a problem trying to solve one Before the lockdown I popped in to a record fair in a local pub and there was a box titled re-issues and they were ALL boots. I casually mentioned it to the dealer and he swore at me and I was only trying to help him
  16. The major problem is that sellers and dealers twist to suit and state reissue (which of course is true in these cases) but have selective forgetfulness when it comes to mentioning bootlegs / repros / counterfeits (do you see what I did there using 3 different words for the same thing (it's confusing enough without using different names or is that meant to confuse ?)
  17. Wow, I have just had an email from a mate who also sent the seller a message complaining and within 2 hours got "his" Ebay account "Terminated" He threatened them with Trading Standards and they have reinstated him overnight Shocking
  18. How did I miss this brilliant as usual work, you are becoming my secret detective crush.
  19. I have an answer and am winding as we speak "Hahaha Wind your neck in. The labels and run out etchings were clearly photographed and included in the listing so experts like you could jog on by. Bidding started at £1.99 as it was bought in a job lot 30 years ago. Regardless, the high bidders have already been notified the auction is being pulled when I finish work this evening. I hope this meets with your approval."
  20. I hope lots have messaged the seller (I have) it may be innocent mistake ..... we will see
  21. My memory is not what it used to be, but this story I am sure is pretty accurate John or someone told me a million years ago that on one of Manships USA trips he went to a market and found a stack of 45's in a barrow. When he had sorted the ones he wanted the guy/ guys selling them, took the plastic somewhere and came back with what John thought was a really expensive price. He questioned the reason and they produced Manship's guide as the source of their pricing structure. "Actions always have consequences" I believe Check out the Magnetics on evilbay item 65213809022 Starting bid $9,975.00 I can't believe at that price it did not sell and has been re-listed (joking)
  22. Blimey buddy what a staggering coincidence that is
  23. I wonder (it's only a "might be") if Eric might know more having his fathers paperwork ? e-Mail: sales@secretstashrecords.com 612.466.2224
  24. Wow I never new that as everyone was moaning in the UK about it, perhaps they were cheaper items. I genuinely thought the £135 thing was EU since UK Brexited. Thanks and very informative (I never buy of Evilbay). So I assume the same applies with Discogs if a UK buys an item more than £135, as I thought VAT was (again) auto added at point of sale, no matter the price.
