Hi roggert, sorry for the late reply but I've only just seen your comment. These photos belong to my brother (Dave Urmston) & he seems to think they were taken in Samanthas Sheffield. He thinks Graham is on the far right & Russ next to him. He told me Russ was from Derby but his memory isn't too good these days. Pleased to meet you anyway. Chris
  2. Yes it is an oddball mis-press & plays (Samba D Jubilee) King Errison, which is the B side to Zola on the Canyon label. Think the bootleggers slipped up with this one & some copies got out. Mick
  3. Verbal Expressions of TV is a great track, love it. Can't help thinking Jamiroquai meets Stevie Wonder! Much prefer this side to the other 'I'm Alive'. Chris
  4. Troggs in Farnworth, 17th March 1973. The night the Torch ended. Can't remember what the first record was that night though. A month later I was at the Va Va allnighter in Bolton & 'Winner Takes All' - Geraldine Hunt was being played as I walked into the club. This was my second allnighter. Mick
  5. Debbie, I think the young man in the waistcoat is soul-source member Brian Jolley.
  6. Ditto. 1975, made to measure at Michaels Leathers in Bolton. I wore it until 1977, then it wouldn't fasten across my baby bump!
  7. Kev, Dont you mean ZZ Hill, Baby im sorry? Long time no see m8. Mick.

    Andy McCabe's double?
  9. I always take an assortment of flyers home with me. They are much easier to read with specs on, in daylight & the right way up. Favourites are the long, narrow, card type ones...they make great bookmarks.
  10. I'm sticking my neck out a bit here but has anyone dared to mention George Benson - Supership As bad as it is, it was certainly a floor-filler before we all came to loathe it.
  11. Hamilton Bohannon - Foot Stompin Music Graham Central Station - Feel The Need Crown Heights Affair - Dreaming A Dream All floor-fillers at Blackpool Mecca around 1974/75. Graham Central Station may still possibly work at an 'across the board' venue, but maybe it's a bit too commercial for most folk. Great dancer tho
  12. If it helps, I found it on Amazon.com priced $20.99, not sure about shipping price though. Oops! Sorry, there was a link to that wasn't there
  13. Absolutely! Loved `Ton of Dynamite` since I first heard it at Blackpool Mecca & it still sends the shivers up the back of my neck. Not many instrumentals do it for me these days really, especially some of the afore mentioned Mecca disco type sounds. Although at the time I watched those perfectly poised, elegant, dancers, shuffle around the dance-floor to some of those now very dated sounds. I stood at the edge of the dance-floor with my gob open I never did managed to look like them, I'm far too common.
  14. What about these - The Trip - Dave Mitchell with the Screamers She`s so pretty - Winfield Parker How do you feel - Stu Gardner Manifesto - James Lewis and the Case of Tyme
  15. I accidentally learned how to play this tune one day whilst doing "I must, I must, improve my bust" exercises! Chris
