Stanley Soul Club - Saturday 13th August 2022. Well! what can I say but a real big thank you too everyone who travelled from near and far on a really hot evening to attend and support our soul event. It was good to see our regular supporters and soulies who came for the first time. It was a brilliant night made all the better with our guest DJ Shaun Callon (Blackburn Oldies), (who stepped in last minute for Phil who was unwell), spinning his favourite tunes and floorfillers alongside our resident DJ's Graeme & Karen Bickerton and my wivey Joan Rimmer. A big thank you to Karen and Graeme for helping at the end of the evening. A big thank you to our birthday soul sister Karen Bradshaw for helping on the door and I would thank everyone on behalf of Karen who brought her presents and cards as she celebrated her birthday at this event. We look forward to seeing everyone again at our '1st Anniversary' Northern Soul & Motown event on Saturday 8th October when we'll be joined by our good friend Pete Everett (Sink & Other Places) as our guest DJ who will be playing his favourite dancers and floorfillers. CHARITY ALLDAYER SUNDAY 10th JULY 2022. + My big birthday bash. Well, a big thank you to everyone who travelled from near and far, including Joseph Kavna all the way from Scotland, to join us for a our Charity Alldayer. It was a brilliant response and we really do appreciate your support for this worthy cause. £276.70 raised on the day through donations and the raffle, and maybe a little more when SANDS open the official collection boxes, (we'll keep you posted). A big thank you to all the DJ's Denise Fitzsimmons, Liz Mahoney, Julie Val & David Burke, Keiron Woodward, Karen Bickerton & Graeme Bickerton and of course, my loving wife and co host Joan Rimmer who played fantastic sets throughout the day and donated their fees to the Charity. A big thank you from me. A big thank you to Laura Shields and her team at The Stanley for providing the venue and keeping everone refreshed on such a hot and glorious day. Lastly, can I say personally a big thank you to everyone for all the birthday cards and presents I received on the day and also before. Did someone say I liked craft beers......lol I'm going to really enjoy drinking and reading my soul books in the garden while the sun continues to shine. Many thanks to one and all and we hope you can make our next regular bi-monthly event on the 13th August, when our Guest DJ will be Phil Broadhurst (Farnworth Cricket Club) who will be joining us and spinning his favourite tunes. Stanley Soul Night 11th June 2022. Well, what a great night with a fantastic turnout to support both our Guest DJ Tony Brookes and our Northern Soul / Motown event. A big thank you to everyone who travelled from near and far to join us to make it such a brilliant night, one not to be forgotten in hurry. So many name faces and friends not seen for many years. Hopefully if you've enjoyed the night you will come again for more of the same and continue to support the only soul event now held in Burscough. A big thank you to Tony Brookes & Lisa for being our guest DJ and for keeping the floor filled throughout his set with great music, and to our resident DJ's Graeme & Karen Bickerton and (wivey) Joan Rimmer who played brilliant sets throughout the night. We hope you enjoyed the evening and we look forward to seeing you all again for our next BIG event on Sunday 10th July for our Charity Alldayer in support of SANDS. Well what can I say. A few less than usual for our Soul & Motown event at The Stanley Soul Club this time but understandable with the start of holidays and other commitments. Hopefully you'll come back on June 11th for our next event at The Stanley (Burscough) when we'll have Pete Everett (Suzie Everett) as our special guest DJ. It would be great to see more of our group page members come along and check out the event. Don't forget, if there is anything you would like to hear, then just leave a comment here and we'll try and cater for your requests. We'd like to thank everyone for coming and supporting our event and it was good to see some new faces and our friends Jacko and Ronnie amongst them. We hope you enjoyed the evening and hopefully you'll all come along again. A big thank you to our regular supporters for continuing to support our events. A big thank you to our guest DJ Tony Mundey (Ann Mundey) who played a blinder and kept the floor filled throughout and also to our resident DJ's Graeme Bickerton and Karen Bickerton who did a sterling job throughout the night playing to the floor. A big thank to you both for helping to dismantle and pack away the equipment at the end of the evening, it's a real big help. Northern Soul / Motown Event - Saturday 12th February. Well, what can we say but a huge thank you to everyone who travelled from near and far to attend our Northern Soul and Motown event at The Stanley Soul Club. A brilliant night where the dance floor was packed throughout with great music being played by our Guest DJ Shaun Callon and from our resident DJ's Graeme and Karen Bickerton. We would hope that everyone enjoyed themselves, which seemed to be the case following positive comments made from those who attended. A big thank you to everyone who helped to make the evening a big success. Karen Bradshaw for helping with the door and to Glyn Hanford for technical stuff, and to Laura Shields and her team for providing the venue and keeping everyone supplied with refreshments. We look forward to seeing everyone coming along again on March 12th as we'll be celebrating Joan's birthday and will be joined by our guest DJ's Mark Isles and Annette Maughan (The Double Deckers) for another great night of music and dance. Stanley Soul Club - Christmas Event - 18th December 2021. Well what a brilliant night at our Christmas Event at The Stanley Soul Club, having a great turnout of like minded soulies traveling from near and far to join and support us for the evening. We thank you for your support and hope that everyone enjoyed the evening and we look forward to seeing you all again in 2022 at our next event on Saturday 12th March. Some comments made with regards music played and not played and so If you would like to hear particular music or specific records, then please post your requests on our Face Book group page and our DJ's will only be to glad to accommodate. We would like to thank our resident DJ's Karen and Graeme Bickerton and our Special Guest DJ Des Jones for keeping the floor full throughout the evening with their great music. A big thank you to Karen Bradshaw for helping Joan with the door and to Glyn Hanford for setting up for the evening.
