    Stanley Soul Club Event - 8th February 2025. Well it was a great start to 2025 with a great crowd who travelled from near and far to join us for our first event. We can only say, thank you everyone, for continuing to support our events. It was good to see our regular soulies and to welcome those who joined us for the first time. Thank you to David Burke and Julie Val for bringing their friends and who will be guesting at our June event. Can I say a big thank you to our good friend and special guest DJ Pete Everett (Suzie Everett) for joining us and for playing a brilliant set which filled the dance floor, and to our resident DJ's Graeme and Karen Bickerton for playing two brilliant sets which kept the floor moving, and a big thank you for your help for putting away the equipment at the end of the night. A big thank you to Sallyanne Johnson and Nick for coming and helping Joan on the door which we really appreciate. We had lots of positive comments and we hope everyone enjoyed the evening and we look forward to seeing everyone again on Saturday 12th April when we will be joined by one of our good friend and regular special guest Tony Mundey (Grimsarph Village Hall Soul Club).     Stanley Soul Club NYE 2025 Event. What a brilliant evening we had for our New Year's Eve 2025 event at The Stanley made all the better by everyone who had travelled through flooded roads and motorways from near and far to join us. We thank each and everyone of you for enduring the horrendous weather to support us. We are sorry not to see some who where coming but too unsure about travelling which we totally understand. I had lots of inquiries about the event from people as far away as Cornwall and would welcome you to tag yourself on the attached photos. A big thank you to Carole Anne McCarthy who braved flooded motorways to be our Special Guest DJ and who played a fantastic set which filled the dance floor throughout. A big thank you to our resident DJ's Graeme Bickerton and Karen Bickerton who played two fantastic sets and played to the floor with their great selection in music and visitors requests which brought us to the big 12 o'clock count-down and the welcoming in of 2025 which had everyone up in the party mood for the big event. Thank you also for helping too pack away the equipment in the torrential rain Graeme and too Karen, with the help also from Karen Bradshaw who we thank very much for looking after the door admissions along with wife Joan who also played a brilliant set of Wigan Casino classic oldies which inspired some to reminisce of their days spent at the Casino back in 1970's (as said to myself), and who look forward to coming again in 2025. Just more big thank you to the The Stanley bar staff for catering too the refreshment needs of our visitors. Thank you everyone and we look forward to seeing you at one of events in 2025 which commence on Saturday 8th February when we will be joined by our good soul friend and Special Guest DJ Pete Everett (Rhythm Soul Club and Others).     Stanley Soul Club Christmas Event. A quieter night than we had hoped but a big thank you to everyone who travelled from near and far to join us for our Christmas Event, especially as some had travelled from Halifax and Bradford. It's good to see more new faces alongside our regular supporters and we thank you so much for your support. A big thank you to our Special Guest DJ Tony Mundey (Ann Mundey) and to Linda Butterworth for stepping in for Joan who is still under the weather (post-op) but managed to join us for a few hours courtesy of Nick and Sallyanne Johnson's assistance. Thank you Nick and Sally. A big thank you to our resident DJ's Karen and Graeme Bickerton for their continued support. All our DJ's played great sets which kept the floor alive with an eclectic mix of classic dancers. We hope that everyone enjoyed the evening and may join us again either on New Year's Eve or at one of events in 2025 commencing on Saturday 8th February. Thank you to Sallyanne for covering our door entrance alongside Joan, and to Karen and Graeme for their help in packing away the equipment, for which your assistance is totally appreciated.     Stanley Soul Club Events Review - 12th October 2024. A big thank you too everyone who travelled from near and far who joined us for a fantastic night at our 3rd Anniversary Event. Though we had a lot of regular supporters missing due to other events and sickness, it was great to see some of our other regular loyal supporters, and some new visitors, come along and support us for a great night with a great atmosphere. With special thank you to the soulies from Lytham Cricket and Social Soul Club. A big thank to Vance Butterworth for stepping in for our guest DJ spot as Steve Wilde was poorly, (get well soon Steve), who played a brilliant spot which filled the floor, and to our resident DJ's Graeme Bickerton and Karen Bickerton for doing what they do best and for helping put away the equipment. A big thanks also to Karen Bradshaw for covering the door alongside wivey Joan. We are now working towards our Christmas event on the 14th December where we look forward to seeing our Special Guest DJ Tony Mundey (Ann Mundey) spinning his favourite tunes and hoping to see everyone again for another great night of music and dance.     Stanley Soul Club Charity All-Dayer in aid of the North West Air Ambulance Charity. We would like to give a big soulful thank you to everyone who travelled from near and far to attend and support our Charity All-Dayer in aid of the NW Air Ambulance Charity at the Stanley Soul Club given the appalling weather conditions. A big thank you to all our Special Guest DJ's Thomas Allinson, Tony (Ann Mundey), Julie Val & David Burke and Resident DJ's Graeme & Karen Bickerton for making it such successful day, and to Karen Bradshaw for all her help throughout the day. Thank you all for your generosity in donating raffle prizes and for taking part in our event which raised a total of £405.00 for the charity.     Stanley Soul Club- 15th June 2024 (Review). A big thank you to everyone who travelled from near and far to join us for another great night of music and dancing spent with good friends. A big thank you to Vance Butterworth for playing a brilliant set of his favourite tunes which kept the dancefloor full and to our resident DJ's Graeme Bickerton and Karen Bickerton for playing their great dancefloor classics. Also, a big thank you both for helping with packing away the equipment. Our next event will be on Saturday 10th August when we will be joined by our good friend Tony Mundey (Ann Mundey) as our special guest DJ. We look forward to seeing everyone at our next event.     STANLEY SOUL CLUB EVENT 13th April. What a great night spent with soul friends old and new. A big thank you to everyone who travelled from near and far to join us for our event. It was a brilliant to have so many new people joining us for the first time and it's always a pleasure to see our regular supporters. It was good to see old friends Liz and Roger Mahoney who we hadn't seen for so long. A big thank you to our friend and guest DJ Pete Everett who played a blinder as always and filled the dance floor with his eclectic mix of tunes. We look forward to seeing you both again soon. A big thank you to our resident DJ's Graeme and Karen Bickerton for helping us set up and who started of the evening with two brilliant sets of great dance tunes which filled the dance floor and kept it rocking. Thank you both for helping us to pack away at the close. Thank you to Karen Bradshaw for helping out on the entry and for spending your time modifying our record deck cover. And finally to say a big thank you to my wife Joanie for closing the night, playing her classic oldies set which always goes down well. Needless to say that without her help and support running our events that it wouldn't be possible. Thank you everyone for your continuing support as without you it wouldn't be possible to continue. A big thank you to our special guest DJ Rod Looker who played a brilliant eclectic mix of classic dancers which kept the dancefloor moving and to our resident DJ's Graeme and Karen Bickerton for playing their favourite classic Northern Soul and Motown choons alongside with wivey Joan.     Stanley Soul Club - New Year's Eve Celebration. Well what a brilliant New Year's Eve at the Stanley Soul Club. Thank you to everyone who travelled from near and far to join us for our NYE event. We really appreciate your attendance and support and hope you enjoyed the night as much as we did. A big thank you to our guest DJ's Tony Mundey and Pete Everett alongside our resident DJ's Graeme and Karen Bickerton and to wife Joan who kept the floor packed throughout the night playing a brilliant eclectic mix of music. A big thank you to Karen for covering the door and to the bar staff who kept everyone refreshed throughout the night.
