  1. There was the 'Your Chess Requests" EP which incled Rescue Me & WAS black & Silver - but that's it as I recall!
  2. Can't say I've ever seen one - but might be having a senior moment, Nick. Chess was on catalogue for years under PYE, even when Phonogram took over UK distribution they all went shades of Blue and Blue Plastic, but pretty sure there was no Black & Silver copy.
  3. Apart from my UK copy of Rescue Me! No gold...no silver! Sean
  4. "Rescue Me" was gold only and 99% sure that "Recovery" was too, Eddie. Sean
  5. Nitty Gritty LP track from '69. Sean
  6. Yep, same gal, Joe. I remember seeing her at the City Hall in Sheffield, mid 70's. Loved her version of the Elgins "Darling Baby" and bough the 45 and LP on the strength of it!. Sean
  7. Bob Relf. Orange.
  8. Don't know it Dave but.... Listed on SS last year for £300 Sold on auction last year for $381 with 12 bids. Happy days! Sean
  9. A copy went on ebay recently for $108.50 with 4 Bidders. Sean
  10. Its Jarvis Jackson, (of the wonderful 'Something I Never Had' fame) Dave. It also came out on Guyden. Nice double sider! Sean
  11. Outstanding tip! Tis truly an awesome album, Garv, from a truly awesome and too often ignored artist. Read more about the artist, the album and the Memorial Fund here. https://www.ovwright.org/ Sean
  12. Both are worth picking up... The RCA one contains the classy 70's dancer "I've Quit Running The Streets" and the Ocean Front album is produced by Lamont Dozier and of reasonable quality for the decade... but you'll find that neither reach the total high calibre of the UNI LP. Sean
  13. It's rare. As in 'not common'. Somebody find me one. Sean
  14. Cheers Pete, Sounds just my bag! Sean
  15. I wouldn't know Pete. For some reason it keeps crashing my browser - so it probably is that bad Reckon this James Lovejoy of Ians is a pretty hard record though. If his description 'Cross between Womack & Carter' is anything to go by I'd love to hear it. Sean
  16. Indemand then. 7 pm's on a record we've never heard - purely as its a Levine tip. Suggest you auction it. Sean
  17. I'll give you eight quid for it + p&p. Do you accept PayPal? Sean
  18. Yes Pete.
  19. Hi Roger, I Found my Dutch copy the other day. Will try to get it scanned or photographed and put it up here. Also found I had the Oz copy too, which I'd totally forgotten about. Looks verrrrry nice! Sean
  20. One thing that is black & white is that the manufacture and sale of Bootlegs is illegal. They are counterfeit, pirate copies and they should neither be encouraged nor promoted. That is the overriding principle as far as I'm concerned... and all the rest (its a rare scene, bollox) is propaganda. As for the playing of Bootlegs at a local oldies night, I can see how it comes about and, lets face it, as many of the classics were done 30 odd years ago that particular genie is well out of the bottle and the damage, to lost sales, already done. Certainly, 'vinyl' DJ's should always aim to play original vinyl. But those who play the occasional 30 odd year old pressing of a monster classic, to lift an oldies night, should probably not be hung for their actions. That privilege should have been reserved for the bootleggers. Sean
  21. Very nice LP. Theres an equally nice version of "Let My Love Bring Out etc." by Lonnie Youngblood on a Calla 45, by the way! Sean
  22. Always been "Hurting Kinda Love" and "Some Of Your Loving" for me! Sean
  23. I agree, Soul Music is definately an artform, but the physical vinyl record is only a carrier or media. The music itself is no less a work of art if played on any other legitimate media. Of course, if one insists on the absolute original format then, short of having the artist in the room with a live performance, DJ's would need to go back to the original studio Master tapes. Reckon that'll be the next big thing - Original Master Tape Only = OMTO. Yep, works for me. KTF OMTO Sean
