  1. HIT was Ted Jarret's Budget label, in Nashville, pushing out soundalike 'Top Ten Tunes' for 39 cents! As well as Herbert Hunter, you'll find records by Benny Lattimore (Snap Your Fingers), Peggy Gaines (Playboy, Gravy and Every Little Bit Hurts, ), Georgettes (Quicksand) on there. I've got quite a few, but there are complete label freaks out there for this prolific label! Sean
  2. Very Sad News, Rob. Always loved the Mighty, Mighty, Dells. RIP Sean
  3. Is it "Love Aint Gonna Run Me Away" you're asking about Steve? A version of Luther Ingram? Never seen one. But Luther's is one of the finest records in history. Sublime! Sean
  4. As a matter of interest, what were the two records, Ian? Maybe someone else would like 'em. Are they still available? Sean
  5. Fish is one of the better 'Modern' DJ's around (IMO). Sean
  6. Its a bit more than that mate. All kinds of Black Music represented on here these days, even Reggae, so I guess the daughter of Cissy Houston's new single is worth a shout... even if it aint up to much! Sean
  7. Anyone heard the Sam Dees penned "Lover For Life" sung by the young Whitney? A pretty good Modern Soul record (IMO)! (But not quite as good as Sams original Demo, I must admit!) Sean
  8. How about 6 million records, cant be wrong! That'll get your views up.
  9. Aha!... are these 'Wigans Chosen Few' Steve? I wondered what became of them! Agree 100%. I can't see what any of this has to do with Soul Music. Sean
  10. Have we already got this one? Brite Leaf! Produced by Billy Arnell incidentally! Sean
  11. Agreed Bob... on all counts! Sean PS: You're right about "Your Love Comes Slower Than Never" too. Another great side from these guys.
  12. I've played the "Darling I Need You Now" side out many times over the past 5-6 years. As Bob says, it is by far the rarest of the two 45's from the Enchanted Five (the other one is a cracker as I'm sure everyone knows - a great double sider) but "DINYN" is very underrated and deserves a lot more exposure. I've seen 1 or 2 issues at £150 - £200 (and I think Rich Rozen had one for $250 a couple of years ago). I paid considerably less for my Mint White Demo but I rate it as at least the same value. Think £150 would be a steal for such an underexposed crossover stunner! Sean
  13. Aha! - he finally exposes himself! Good on you John. its gone to a good home. My issue is the only vinyl one I've seen, that's why I was asking. But agree, "Something" is the side... I played for over 10 years before people really started taking notice! Tasty record mate. Sean
  14. Yes mate... I need another though please (cos I gave it to a client) and a constant reminder by email... or whatever! Sean
  15. Yeh, I know Patrick... just one bloody sheep and nobody will let you forget it! Think that was a bit of bargain for an issue matey! Wonder if it was Styrene or Vinyl? You'll have to let me know when he/she gets it! Sean
  16. If its you, Patrick, then I'm sure its not the first time! Sean
  17. Yeh - I'd like to know that. Anyone? Sean
  18. If they'd just bought that, I think 'round to their place' is the last place I'd want to be, Ian. I'd rather listen to Tim Brown's arse. Sean
  19. I see the Crown Prosecution Service has put the mockers on the new 'Assisted Suicide' series, "Come Die With Me". Sean
  20. Actually Rod, I believe Fanny is already committed to the new TV show where she presents various methods of preserving and pickling vegetables, fish and meat with salt water. "Come Brine With Me" should be quite popular. Sean
  21. Funny that. I was recently asked to join a Monty Python Lumberjack Tribute Band (complete with Canadian Mounted Police backing group) called 'Come Pine With Me'.
  22. Yeh, I thought it was one o' yours mate. Sean
  23. A real left fielder, Bob, but agree that Patti had one great voice! Sean
