  8. Its on the superb "Soul From the City" LP, from Dave Godin's 'Soul City' label... if you don't mind the album. I have a spare of the LP, but you might be better off with this. https://cgi.ebay.com/SOUL-FROM-THE-CITY-RARE-1968-SOUL-CITY-NORTHERN-SOUL-LP_W0QQitemZ120484930383QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Records?hash=item1c0d76234f Price: £7.00 Availability: Buy It Now Cheers Sean
  9. Ah! Just checked, it was covered as The Ambassadors by Gary. Sean
  10. Kinda, I played it originally at my local (often) in 1973/74. I remember hearing Gary play it at Lincoln Drill Hall in 79 covered up (forget who by... ???). You could have knocked him down with a feather when I went on stage and told him who the artist was and that I'd played it years ago. Pretty sure Gary was first (or one of the first) to play it at an AllNighter though. Sean
  11. That's the girl Bob. Great picture. Not seen a 'pre-Hi' shot before. Thanks Sean
  12. Just remembered "Friends Falling In love" which is another great Hi sound from our girl! Mmmmmm think a quiet night in with Jean Plum is on the menu! Sean
  13. Agree Gareth, A beautiful track, much 'darker' than her other sides. Also, checkout "Today I Sing The Blues" from the Royal Memphis Soul boxed set. Bluesy and Soulful, just as I like 'em! Sean
  14. It might well do Brian. You'll need to be quick on accommodation (not sure if they've all gone). Check the website for details. www.JustSoul.co.uk https://www.justsoul.co.uk/hotels.php Be good to see you there matey! Sean
  15. Hi Ivor, I have "Pour On The Loving" Demo (Double sided White) and a Black issue. Nice enough record, the issue though has the INCREDIBLE "You Ask Me" on t'other side, so somebody should be snatching your hand off for the spare! Hope you're well mate. Sean
  16. Hi John, A couple of years ago this same question came up and, because I've got a stack of Hi 45's, I remember thinking I must have had a spare issue (I certainly had a catalogue number on my Hi listing). Some months later when I checked, not only did I not have a spare, I didn't have an issue at all! I had UK issues and UK demos and US Demo's of "Look At The Boy" but no US Issue. I bought the record as a new release and have played it out many times over the past 30 odd years, more especially at Soul Essence, in recent years, so surprised I haven't got an issue in there somewhere! I remember someone said that Butch had some issue copies that he'd been selling at £30 or £40(?) which I would have thought would be a fair price. I've got issues and Demos of the other Jean Plum 45's you mention (all superb) but, no LATB. Knowing how you have an 'issue' fetish, I think it would make a tidy addition to your collection, mate, if one comes up! Sean
  17. Result mate! Now all we need to do is sort something on... that other 45! Sean
  18. Does sound like little Sonny Bob. Can think of 3-4 Intruders tracks it resembles, Gamble period. Had me scratching my head all afternoon. Not a great track, after several listens, and agree, as the dawg Randy Jackson, would say ' a bit pitchy in parts' but a curious one if its not the Intruders. Sean
  19. Quite a few associations and recordings with Bobby Womack, back in the day. Sean
  20. Yep, I've got that one too Sebastian. Got all four and I knew that one label was nagging me. If I wasn't laid up with a bad back I'd have gone and checked. When I'm up and about I'll dig 'em all out and play 'em side by side. Think there's no doubt, all releases are preddy darn good. Sean
  21. Good post Gareth. Incidentally, an old workmate of mine saw him backing the Isley Brothers at Sheffield's Mojo, pre Motown. Would also be very surprised at any other 'Motown' connection. Sean
  22. Yep - pretty sure that's the state of play matey! Sean
  23. Tchula is the other label, nick. And its a goodie - more 'modern' in production. Sean
  24. One here. https://www.beautiful-records.com/discographies/UK/uk.htm Sean
