Aha! You´re probably right mate, but I can´t check until next week as Im in Lanzarote! (tough job, but somebody´s gotta do it) For decades I had an off centre US press of it which I replaced a couple of years ago with a Non US copy, which off the top of my head was Aussie, but if you say it was never released in OZ then that can´t be the case. I guess it´s either European, or South American. but I´ll try to find it when I get back to be sure and I´ll post up a scan so we can identify it if I´m struggling. Can´t even remember what label its on so not a lot of help until I can get my hands on it. The point I was making still remains, whether Aussie, or Argie, or whatever, good records need to be played, regardless of the label. Sean

I think there's some truth in that Ady. As I recall, it was a club biggie as an LP track (on the album "Make it Happen") before the 45 which was issued (September 1970) to meet the track's demand. I have heard though that it was simply a trawl through the back catalogue for something worthy of a release that spawned the 45 (think that's what Dave told me) but I've always preferred to think that its success happened in the same way as Tami Lynn, Tams etc as a route to market. Either way, the track was remixed (speeded up, as Tony says) for the 45 and became a huge UK hit with the 45 issue following on the other side of the Atlantic and elsewhere in Europe etc. Always LOVED the flipside to the UK 45 "Who's Gonna Take The Blame". A fabulous record. Is that on the flip to the Argie copy Roger? Sean

It was remixed in 1980. Slightly zippier with a great flipside, a version of Eddie Floyds "I've Never Found Me A Girl" Came out over here on EMI both 7" and 12". Cheap as chips. I'd have put money on the left hand side one being from Boylans, Roger and the Right Hand side one coming from Soul Bowl. My copy came from Boylans too, Identical to the one on the left. Good to see you back mate. Sean

If I'd seen Rogers (Left Hand side one) in a Sales Box I'd have immediately thought it was the early 70's Repress, Pete. You're right, they do look very similar. Roger, can you recall, did the Left Hand side one come from Boylans? Sean

That looks to me just like the Repress that was knocking about around 73/74 Pete. I picked mine up for about 0.75p back then from my local record shop. Don't know if its Stereo though, but I'd imagine it is. Sean

FL Moore were the first Sales lists I ever saw. One of my old mates (infact a good few years older), 'Diddy' Dave Frost was a local DJ around Rotherham and he used to sell me lots of things when I first started collecting, which all came from FL Moore. All the older lads seemed to get there stuff from there. I think they were the first into Mail Order in a big way. Those 45's listed will have been 'imports'. British stuff was quite a bit cheaper. I'd spend hours on a Saturday afternoon going through his new stuff that arrived each week from there, probably right up until about 1972/3. Seem to think they had a couple of shops, somewhere down South, but the lists all came from Leighton Buzzard, which to a 14 year old sounded as exotic as San Francisco. I remember Dave got me a Shirley Karol "Just To Make You Happy" on Dakar off the list, just cos I was into Tyrone Davis. (Remember taking it to a Northern do, many years later, but the DJ wouldn't play it cos it was too funky :-)) Even now, the very name FL Moore (always synonymous with Leighton Buzzard) makes me smile.
