  3. Mick Scott 'Scotty' - Top Left - from Doncaster. Wadda boy! Sean
  4. Thanks Pete. Not seen it before. Looks pretty recent to me. Sean
  5. On the other hand... I just found this on the net.... and it looks well dodgy to me! Sean
  6. It was Booted in the UK, but not on Island. There was a late 60s - Early 70s boot on MAGIC. There was also a Multi Coloured (Red, Yellow, Green, Blue) Island mid 70s Reissue. Original is on the Red & White Island logo. Sean
  7. "We Just Can't Make It" is the title Paul and you're right, its always been a goodie. GG has a couple of other great 'B' sides I used to play back in the day. "Searching" is a scorcher on the flip of "Reach Out I'll Be There" and on the flip of "How High The Moon" is the fabulous "My Man's Gone". Great singer Gloria, that more often than not suffered from having to deliver dreadful material. Thoroughly reccommend all three of these tracks though! Sean
  8. Remember Lou Courtney being pretty upset that Epic hardly promoted the material at all. The album that spawned this 45 is a World Class piece of work, that everyone should seek to own. Sean
  9. For years I thought the proper title was 'Shing a King Stroll' Joe, cos that was all I had. I think there are probably more misprints out there than the corrected ones. Sean
  10. Hi Tony, I still have that one too. He was the father (and manager) of 'Brit Pop' group 'Five Star' so I've always thought it was recorded in the UK and not released elsewhere. Sean
  11. Thanks for the superb plug mate. I got 4 new subscribers today and wondered why On my YouTube channel I try to put music up that's not already on there. Don't see a lot of point in putting tunes up that are already available on someone elses channel. Keep meaning to add lots more - but you know what my workload is like... so must try harder! I have had several comments from Artists and their friends, or the Children of Artists, since I set it up. It doubles the satisfaction for me! YouTube and RefoSoul are definitely a valuable resource - as is the entire internet if you're a true digger Really looking forward to the CD's coming out. They oughta sell a million! Sean
  12. Good choice Roger. The first label I collected.. seriously. Think I had 'em all by the late 70's. Split my first collection up in early 80's but hung on to a few favourites and still have quite a few. Favourite releases: Melvin Davies "This Love Was Meant To Be" Bobby Williams "Baby I Need Your Love" Carl Carlton "Why Can't They Leave Us Alone" ZZ Hill "Make Me Yours" Brenda & The Tabulations "That's In The Past" Barbara Mason "Half A Love" Gene Chandler "I Can Take Care Of Myself" Bobby Bland "Share Your Love With Me" +++ Bobby Patterson "Im In Love With You" "Married Lady" Hoagy Lands "Do You Know What Life is All About" How could I forget these two gems Baz! Sean
  13. Am in the process of putting my offering together. Only had chance to listen to Mike's so far - Quality stuff Mike Will try and get a few run off next week, to hand out at Just Soul - so if you're planning on coming next Saturday (10th July) please let me know. The rest will follow by snail mail (apologies Eddie H.) Cheers, Sean
  14. Gotta love "Are We Ready For Love" too!
  15. Rotherham Clifton Hall - Millie Jackson "Ask Me What You Want" Sean
  16. Dunno Dean, The image is from the November 1968 issue of Vogue! Top totty mate. Sean
  17. Hi Dean, Look what I just found! Nice pic of the Flamma Sherman Sisters. Lovely! Sean
