  1. There's a Sharon SOLE LP on Stang, Gareth, entitled "Voice Of The People". Stang is Allplatinum related, of course, so probably the same lady....? Sean
  2. Sorry Tony and Malc, I'm not sure thats the proper dress code for our do. Except for the laaaaaaaaaaaaadies of course! An small army of cross dressers might upset the larger than life Bully... who is quite sensitive to such activities. Sean
  3. mmmmmmmm think I did too Blake Is this the place you had me on one night, mid 90's? Sean
  4. Absolutely. Was booted in 1970. Sean
  5. Great song, also done by Supremes (Can't Stop a Girl) and Wilson Pickett! Sean
  6. 1st issue copy here. https://www.musicstack.com/item.cgi?item=109218624 Sean
  7. Ah! Flipside on 1st issue is called 'Lay' apparantley. Topside is an old Steve Mannion spin from early 80's, as I recall. Sean
  8. The 're-press' has an alternative mix to the NSHWA side on the flip. The original has a different title (which escapes me). I've always understood the 're-press' to be absolutely kosher. Sean
  9. It's becoming a tiresome question Ady. Totally bizarre that some folk on here seem to confuse 'legitimate reissues' with 'boots' and don't seem to understand the origins, motivations or differences between the two. Your point regarding 'helping the artist' by purchasing and promoting 'legit' reissues has to be paramount in the mind of the real Soul Music fan. I'm much more impressed by the tireless efforts of people such as you, Tony Rounce, Dean Rudland etc. in finding, licensing and reissuing these magnificent works of art, to finally benefit the artist, than I am by somebody who simply bought and played a rare 45.... just because it's bloody rare! Sean
  10. Am sure there was a thread a couple of years ago on this same question. May have been started by Blake Helliwell, if my memory serves me correctly. Sean
  11. Hi all, Am gonna be posting out this afternoon and tomorrow. I gave a handful out at Just Soul t'other week, but cant be 100% sure who has and who hasn't received em. If you've already got a copy, would you be so kind as to drop me a pm to let me know. Thanks a bunch, Sean
  12. Sorry Mike. It's called promotion. I am playing it right now, actually. Its incredible. If you give me a call, I'll let you listen to a few minutes of it down the phone. Meanwhile, heres a picture of it. Sean
  13. Been in my Motor all week, Steve. The 'Finger Snapper' is a light and breezy little cracker. Reminds me very much of Millie J's 'Close My Eyes' which is no bad thing! The Deepies though.... Oh lawdy, lawdy! Can't choose between them, both are absolutely Top Drawer! Can't find much about Tina Bryant... other than as a backing vocalist on John Lee Hooker's final LP. Wonder if there's any Don Bryant connection? Great stuff matey. Tony Rounce for President! Sean
  14. Frankly, this is one of the finest Real Soul albums to get a Vinyl Only release in the UK in a very, very long time. Everything about it is Top Drawer: a lovely mix of midtempo movers and gorgeous ballads, done as only the late, great Willie Mitchell knew how! Every real Soul Music fan should buy this superb piece of previously 'lost' work. I spend most of my waking hours searching for music of this quality... and here it is. Well done Soul Junction for bringing this great album to market. It's Wonderful! Sean
  15. Bless you Dave. Glad you're enjoying 'em mate. They are different but think there might be one or two duplicate tracks My 'Burnt Offering' will be in the post before the weekend, for all those who weren't at Just Soul and haven't received it yet. But don't let that stop you buying the Demon Comps! Sean
  16. Anybody fancy a copy of this on Greek Melody will find one for sale here at around £145. https://www.cdandlp.com/item/2/0-2204-0-1-0/1029546573/mr.-flood%27s-party-compared-to-what-greek-pressing.html Sean
  17. Excellent value Ian. Very well done mate. Thanks all for the positive feedback on the Southern (Deep & Crossover) compilations. Makes it all worthwhile. Go get em! Sean
  18. Tis a lovely track indeed. It was the lovely Mary Chapman who gave me a copy to play, early 80's at Cleethorpes and it did cause a ripple at the time with such good folk as Adam, Darren, Robin etc. as I recall. Yep - due a revival for sure! Sean
  19. A couple I play out often are: Messiahs Of Glory - I Want To Thank You - Sky Hero Soul Stirrers - Trying To Be Your Friend - Jewel Inspirational stuff! Sean

  21. Mine are all burned. Have been for over a week. I gave a bunch out at Just Soul and will be mailing out the rest in the next few days (ya'll should have bin there... you'd have had 'em by now ). Thus far, I've only had the chance to listen to Mike Lofthouse's (and Top Drawer fayre it is too). The others are all in the porch, just as the postie delivered em, such is my hectic life! Will enjoy giving each one a thorough ear bashing over the next few months. Thanks all, Sean
  22. Lee Brackett wrote "A Lil Lovin Sometimes".... Patton's Northern Soul anthem, other than that, no idea! Sean
