  1. One things for sure, if I ever get a suitable female vocal to cover up I'm gonna say it's Bessie Mae Futtock on ShitShack. Great c/u name Nick! :0) Sean
  2. SOS In Lanzarote. Can't get to a Record Store to save my life! HELP!!!! Sean SO.....

  8. Don't know if anyone mentioned Joe Hinton's "Got You On My Mind" yet but there's a pretty hard one which is sure to have it's day someday! Amongst my face sides of all time is O V Wright's immortal "Nickel And A Nail" - absolutely essential! Sean
  9. One of the greatest Soul records of all time here folks. Sean
  10. Ok. I'd be interested in the other one if it's still going. Pm me. Cheers, Sean
  11. All confirmed to be safe and well Paul, thank God. Sean
  12. Just heard that everyone survived, thank God. Have just seen a photograph and, sadly, it confirms that the Studio is destroyed. Shocking news. Sean
  13. Just received very bad news, that Malaco Studios was totally destroyed today in a Tornado. Hoping everyone is ok but still waiting to hear. Malaco - the last Soul company - recorded much of the finest Soul Music of the past 40 years. This is a devastating loss to our music and heritage. Sean
  14. The flipside "Hold On" has always been a huge fave of mine. Fabulous record. Sean
  15. Steve Plumb had one in his Sales box this weekend. Sean
  16. Bottom b/w pic looks like Bobby Hebb or Ronnie Dyson. Sean
  17. Malc will remember a day he and I spent upstairs at Robs around 25 years ago. Can you remember Earl Van Dyke 'The Flick' Malc? Thought we'd stumbled on a rarity! :0) Early 80's I sold Rob 3 carloads of 45's - a large part of my collection at the time. Boxes and boxes of Okeh, RCA, Atlantic, Stateside, London, Action.... I remember him saying 'this is a 'real' collection" and it certainly was. Wish I could buy em all back now, at the price he gave me for them! LOL Sean
  18. Very sad news. So many great records. Such a fabulous voice. RIP Sean
  19. Tommy Ridgley "Did You Tell Him" is an all time fave. Superb Soul record. Sean
  20. Always loved 'How Could I Help But Love You'. One of my fave 'early' 45's! Sean
  21. Yes indeedy. Is it for sale? Please let me know if is is. Sean
  22. Received the 45 at the weekend. Thank you Paul. Got to say folks, it sounds incredible. The Mastering is Top Notch 45 quality! Will be great being able to play it out LOUD in future (as opposed to off the album). Worth mentioning, the big bonus for the Northern Scene is the equally fabulous flipside 'Giving Up My Heartaches'. This side is a real sleeping Giant for any Northern DJ and a favourite tip of my 'Just Soul' buddy Tats Taylor (a guy with the ears to spot a really good tune, believe me). This is another superb and well thought out release from Shotgun. Crossover Monster on the Topside - Sleeping Giant Fingersnapping Northern on the Flip! Brilliant job mate. Oughta sell by the shedload. Sean
  23. Which is why Tats asked him if he had 'vowel problems' Obviously way too subtle for some, but it slayed me! :0) Sean
  24. I'd have said Rosen until only a few months ago, at a Record Show in Pennsylvania, we met up with the Count. After 20 minutes hardballin' over records, Tats asked him if he had 'vowel problems'. I died. Sean
