  1. The Boot with this design was Blue & White, Mick, not Blue / Silver. Sean
  2. Written by Tony Drake (Samuel Garner) and also recorded by him, remained unreleased until recent years. Also recorded by The Promises on BRC as 'Living in The Footsteps Of Another Girl'. Played the Chi-Lites at Just Soul in March. They loved it. :0) Sean
  3. Was in EVERY Soul Pack in the early 70's, back when everyone wanted 'Try A Little Harder'. Have been playing 'Boys Will Be Boys' for a few years now and its always well received. Seen a few go through eBay these past 24 months for £20 - £35.00. This looks like two people with more money than sense! Sean
  4. Been well received by the Just Soul crowd this past couple of years! Sean
  5. Got a huge box full of these old things :0) Here's an iconic piece of Northern Soul in its rarest format. Sean
  6. Used to go down a storm for me at AllNighters 30+ years ago. I'm sure you can work it in if you try! If its a problem, suggest you leave the much overplayed De Lites at home Sean
  7. Well he's here folks! After 4 great nights at the Jazz Cafe in London, this is the final leg of his tour.... and its gonna be tremendous! Look forward to seeing you there. Sean
  8. Hi Dave, I think it must have been one of the many I meant to bid on but didn't get around to . Definitely remember seeing it somewhere. As for the pressing plant, I was always under the impression they came from the same source as the President & JayBoy 45's - whichever that was? Great piece of NS history for sure. Cheers, Sean
  9. Hi Dave, Thanks for the scan. I remember seeing this (or one like it) on eBay 2-3 years ago. Looks to me more like a Test Pressing (not for circulation) rather than a Demonstration or Promo Copy. Got to be a rare one and as a Soul Sounds completist, I'd like one! Thanks a bunch. Sean
  10. Really Dave? Have you got one? What do they look like? Sean
  11. And I'm still blown away, after many long years, by this beautifully soulful masterpiece. Bloody hell... I need another drink! Thanks Roger & Bri. Great thread! Sean
  12. But if you're looking for Mellow, this should do the business. The Hutch had it all!
  13. One of my faves from one of my favourite artists! A totally incredible record I plug at every opportunity. Magnificent lyrics, superbly performed. Just sit back and marvel at the mastery! Sean
  14. Been playing it for over a year at Just Soul, Tony. And I'll def be playing it at Cleggy tonight. Are you going? If so, I'll have your CD with me! :0) Sean
  15. Dennis is still very much in business. Tats and I were at his place only a few months ago. Sean
  16. I remember this coming out. Around 1974 from memory. It was on the 'New Release' sheet in Blues & Soul at the time. It is on the Blue / Gold later MGM format. Never came out in the UK. Most folk play it off the US LP or French EP, as the 45 is pretty scarce. Sean
  17. Still loving 'Loving The Easy Way'.... bloooooooody amazing. Fellas, you're in for a treat. Sean
  18. I covered "Forever More" at Bradford as Big Maybelle. Maybelle it ain't but it's a Smashin' old choon nontheless! :0) Sean
  19. Think there was an earlier blue label with solid centre too Joe, but can't be 100% as I never had it. Sean
  20. I've got a Minter Flamingos BF1483, Bri. Had it since I were a schoolkid and the big lads wanted to buy it off me. Top tune... :0) Sean
  21. Hound Dogs in Melbourne... Boy, I scored big time there some 15 years ago! Thanks for the memory! :0) Sean
  22. And here's the flip of the Jean Plum 'Look At The Boy'... Does it get any better than this? Sean PS: Think the above shows there was a helluva lot more to Willie Mitchell than the Champion, Dave!
  23. Another I bought when new. A world class Double Sider... and always in the box! Sean
  24. One of several Magnificent Hi 45's from the gorgeous Jean Plum. Sean
  25. Midtempo Soul Perfection from Eddie McGee Sean
