  1. I've got at least a dozen Irish Tamla Motown 45's, including 'Misunderstanding' etc. EMI Ireland put loads of em out. Always liked 'em! :0) Sean
  2. Bob & Steve, couldn't agree more . "This Place Aint Getting No Better" is one of the GREATEST records in the history of the universe! Sean
  3. Nice one Paul. Great release! Every home should have one. Sean
  4. Bobby Womack in-demander now released on GO AHEAD Just to let everyone know that GO AHEAD are proud to announce the third 45 release on the label: TICK 003 BOBBY WOMACK "Home Is Where The Heart Is / Something For My Head" - LIMITED EDITION! This third release from Go-Ahead Records revives and finally makes available Bobby Womack's anthemic 'Home Is Where The Heart Is' an indemand 'Modern Soul' rarity that has been a firm favourite on the Northern Soul dancefloor in recent years. It is now regarded as a Top 10 Northern Soul tune throughout the UK and Europe. How fitting that in 2011, the year of Bobby's highly acclaimed UK tour, the record should once again see light of day as a 45 in the UK (having originally been released in 1976) coupled with another track which has been hugely indemand, as an LP only title, for some 25 years. 'Something For My Head' makes its first appearance ever on a 45. Complete with Picture Sleeve and full history on the reverse, this worthy, limited edition, vinyl record is a superb addition to the Go-Ahead Records collectors' series. Now available from Soul Music Dealers or go to the GO AHEAD RECORDS official website to purchase this limited edition item : www.goaheadrecords.co.uk Other releases still available are: TICK 001 THE EPITOME OF SOUND "Where Were You / You Don't Love Me" TICK 002 MEL BRITT / RUBY ANDREWS "She'll Come Running Back / "Just Loving You" Two more releases will be forthcoming before the end of the year and work is now well in progress for our first compilation album for release in 2012. 6. It's Eddie Owen Russ. I have all label releases of this great song. It was only recorded once Ady. The Garpax is a remix, made funkier. Can provide the various recordings and scans if required. Eddie told me he touted it around 'cos it was just a great record!' :0) Sean
  7. I didn't even get to bid, thanks to being stuck in traffic. But, I've just had one offered to me (at a little more than £3:50) so its all good! You can have the next one! Sean
  8. Nice one Bob. Confirmation at last - a conversation we've had on and off for over 3 years. Top man. Thank you, Sean
  9. I did say I'd pay more than three and a half quid, folks. Come on now... your price is right. :0) Sean
  10. Silly bugger that I am, I just missed one of these on eBay for $5.50 US / £3.50 UK That's three and a half quid where I come from. Three pounds fifty! Now... I might be a tight arsed Yorkshireman, but I'd happily have paid a few quid more than that, had I not been stuck in traffic, with no fags and a thirst that'd choke an hoss... so go ahead... make me day... tell me what you want for your copy and (if price is right) I'll cross yer palm wi silver... once I get me divvy from Co-Op. :0) Sean
  11. I'm In. Enjoy Tony.... oh and don't forget to take your own record Middles (or spiders).... I reckon they've got a Poltergeist who's a bit partial to em! Sean
  12. Who's got the fourth? 1. Me 2. You 3. Gareth Who's got the fourth? Sean
  13. Along with Boylans and Sound of Music, Revolution did a good line in new releases (picked up The Fantastic Puzzles in there for 80p etc.) and had good stocks of all the Soussan pressings of the day, during the Sammys years. Was always a 'must visit' location on a Saturday afternoon. Sean
  14. Linn was Linn Taylor. I knew her and her brother Alan very well, as a lad. Sean
  15. Memory is going Martin, Kennys didnt open until 1979/80. Prior to that the shop that you would have visited on the Wicker in '76 was Windmill Records, run by Mike Kersey. Kenny used to work for Mike for a while and they did the Fairs together. In 79 when Mike moved up round Division Street and renamed the shop Hitsville, Kenny went with him. But some months after he left he set up 2-3 doors down from the old shop opening 'Kennys'. A few that spring to mind, I got from Mike at the original shop, circa '75: PP Arnold, Everything Is Gonna Be Alright - UK Immediate Issue Incredibles - Theres Nothing Else To Say Baby - UK Stateside Demo O'Jays - I Dig Your Act - UK Stateside Demo Isley Bros - Why When Love Is Gone - UK TMG Demo Dee Dee Sharp - Standing In The Need Of Love - UK Cameo Parkway Demo Jon Ford - You Got Me Where You Want Me - UK Philips Issue The last two were 10p each :0) Happy days. Sean
  16. I have the Oz issue as does Gareth Donovan. Only two or three known copies apparently. Sean
  17. That reply really surprises me. I distinctly remember asking for that at an early Mr M's and was told 'no chance' as it wouldn't go down in there. Pretty much stopped me from going in ever again. Glad to hear they eventually saw sense! Great record. :0) Sean
  18. Remember well Sexy Rexy's aka Paul Rex in Rotherham. Spent many a Saturday afternoon in there putting together my huge collection of Ben Shermans and Levi Sta-Prest! Was only telling my kids about it last week. Kendrick Fieldsends too - full of great clobber! Kids today, they've never lived! :0) Sean
  19. Yes they did. Its on the 'Send It' LP. And its superb. RIP Nick Ashford. Sean
  20. I'm sure you're right mate. I've tons of OZ Green / Silver & Green / White Atlantics but i just cant pin down the origin of this ATCO 'Nice & Easy' 45 so I'm just throwing countries and whole continents around like they're going out of fashion! :0) Must dig it out and take a proper look! Cheers, Sean
  21. The Anniv single is the same mix as the Kent CD version mix Mike. It has Horns and Femme backing. The album (I've always played off) has neither - and like you, I prefer it. Sean
  22. What's the title? Think I've got this. Is it black, silver text? Sean
  23. As Ken said, I used to have this back in the 70's and foolishly moved it on. Then one morning I woke up singing it and fancied having it back. Posted a want on here and Ken duly obliged for a ton! Lovely tune, no idea of current rate, but it was around in quantity and cheap as chips when I was a lad. But that seems like a 100 years ago :0) Sean
  24. Flipside of the UK Brunswick issue makes the release very worthwhile, a stunning Sam Dees masterpiece, but the Topside has always left me cold. Sean
  25. Got 'Nice & Easy' on ATCO Tony if you want a scan. It's either South American or Australasian origin... without looking! Nice curiousity. Sean
