One of the best LIVE performers I've ever seen.
Remember him coming on stage once to this OV Wright tribute.
Incredible.

Have played this beauty out for many years.
Hi Studios PERFECTION!

One of the last few remaining Real Soul artists still performing.
But then he's always been one of the greats, even when competition was much more fierce.

Had this record for nearly 40 years, and since the mid 70's always thought it sounded like the Hutch himself on the 'boys' side Kev. Either that or he did the DEMO and got the lead singer to copy the style to a tee!

I've got at least a dozen Irish Tamla Motown 45's, including 'Misunderstanding' etc.
EMI Ireland put loads of em out.
Always liked 'em!

Bobby Womack in-demander now released on GO AHEAD
Just to let everyone know that GO AHEAD are proud to announce the third 45 release on the label:
TICK 003 BOBBY WOMACK "Home Is Where The Heart Is / Something For My Head" - LIMITED EDITION!...

It's Eddie Owen Russ.
I have all label releases of this great song.
It was only recorded once Ady. The Garpax is a remix, made funkier.
Can provide the various recordings and scans if required.
Eddie told me he touted it around 'cos it was just a great record!'

I didn't even get to bid, thanks to being stuck in traffic.
But, I've just had one offered to me (at a little more than £3:50) so its all good!
You can have the next one!

I have more info now on the enchanted five and ultimates.
Enchanted Five is Donnie Scales, later of Segments Of Time on Sussex; Jimmy Radford, Alvin
Freeman, brothers Earl Riley and Ray Riley (deceased). Earl Riley and Jimmy
Radford were later of The Ultimates on Br-roma.
Ultimates on Br-roma is:
Nathanial Haden (lead); Jimmy Radford and Earl Riley, both formerly of The
Enchanted Five; plus one unknown member.
Also, Now on Now might be the same group as the ultimates.
Nice one Bob.
Confirmation at last - a conversation we've had on and off for over 3 years.
Top man.
Thank you,
Sean

I did say I'd pay more than three and a half quid, folks.
Come on now... your price is right.

Silly bugger that I am, I just missed one of these on eBay for $5.50 US / £3.50 UK
That's three and a half quid where I come from.
Three pounds fifty!
Now... I might be a tight arsed Yorkshireman, but I'd happily have paid a few quid more than that, had I not been stuck in traffic, with no fags and a thirst that'd choke an hoss... so go ahead... make me day... tell me what you want for your copy and (if price is right) I'll cross yer palm wi silver... once I get me divvy from Co-Op.

Anyone remember Revoloution Records on the market balconies?
Along with Boylans and Sound of Music, Revolution did a good line in new releases (picked up The Fantastic Puzzles in there for 80p etc.) and had good stocks of all the Soussan pressings of the day, during the Sammys years. Was always a 'must visit' location on a Saturday afternoon.

Yes it was on the corner I think?
Derrick ran the record centre next door but one to linns flower box owned by Neil St John (noddy) from Rotherham I think
As Kids in 75/6 we used to "work" in the record shop (it was better than school!)
Linn was Linn Taylor. I knew her and her brother Alan very well, as a lad.

Spooky that Barry cos I was at the EITB in 1976 (about June I think).
£17 a week wages & like you say straight to Revoloution records via Kenny's records on the Wicker. Had some nice stuff out of there, Motown demo's & such like for pennies.
Memory is going Martin, Kennys didnt open until 1979/80. Prior to that the shop that you would have visited on the Wicker in '76 was Windmill Records, run by Mike Kersey.
Kenny used to work for Mike for a while and they did the Fairs together. In 79 when Mike moved up round Division Street and renamed the shop Hitsville, Kenny went with him. But some months after he left he set up 2-3 doors down from the old shop opening 'Kennys'.
A few that spring to mind, I got from Mike at the original shop, circa '75:
PP Arnold, Everything Is Gonna Be Alright - UK Immediate Issue
Incredibles - Theres Nothing Else To Say Baby - UK Stateside Demo
O'Jays - I Dig Your Act - UK Stateside Demo
Isley Bros - Why When Love Is Gone - UK TMG Demo
Dee Dee Sharp - Standing In The Need Of Love - UK Cameo Parkway Demo
Jon Ford - You Got Me Where You Want Me - UK Philips Issue
The last two were 10p each :0)
Happy days.

I have the Oz issue as does Gareth Donovan. Only two or three known copies apparently.

That reply really surprises me. I distinctly remember asking for that at an early Mr M's and was told 'no chance' as it wouldn't go down in there. Pretty much stopped me from going in ever again. Glad to hear they eventually saw sense!
Great record.

Remember well Sexy Rexy's aka Paul Rex in Rotherham. Spent many a Saturday afternoon in there putting together my huge collection of Ben Shermans and Levi Sta-Prest! Was only telling my kids about it last week. Kendrick Fieldsends too - full of great clobber! Kids today, they've never lived!

No chance of it being Aussie Sean, as there was no Aussie "Atco" label as such.
All Atlantic related releases in Australia were released either on the Green or White and Green Atlantic label, and before that on the Black and Silver London - American label, very similar in design to the UK London - American label.
I'm sure you're right mate. I've tons of OZ Green / Silver & Green / White Atlantics but i just cant pin down the origin of this ATCO 'Nice & Easy' 45 so I'm just throwing countries and whole continents around like they're going out of fashion! :0)
Must dig it out and take a proper look!
Cheers,
Sean

The Anniv single is the same mix as the Kent CD version mix Mike.
It has Horns and Femme backing.
The album (I've always played off) has neither - and like you, I prefer it.

I have both and would have said the Wooton version was the original, Andy.
