  1. How Curious, Both threads started by timthemod! Bit of a thing for this record then Tim? Got to say that I reckon Miffs 'Star' copy is a proper one. Paul Rowan was a superb DJ. Used to do 'Racquels' in Wakefield back in the early / mid 70's and I bought quite a few bits off him back then... all originals. Last time I bumped into him was in a Nightclub in Lincoln, back in '78, right in the middle of the 'Saturday Night Fever' Disco Boom!. Paul was the DJ, complete with Walrus Moustache and a Gold Lurex Jacket with his name emblazoned on the back. Boogie Night Tastic! Sean
  2. "God Save The Queen" on A&M. Had half a dozen back in '77. Now a £5k touch! Nah, I'm talkin' Bo**ocks again. It was the other one on EMI wasn't it. Worst Soul record ever (IMO). Sean
  3. Hi Fraser. The Mercury dude is not THE George Jackson and is certainly a Blue Eyed Soul Boy! I've got pretty much everything by THE George Jackson and also the "I Didn't Have Time" and "Kiss Me" / "Tossin & Turnin" Mercury 45's by the other one, in themselves pretty worthwhile efforts... but nothing compared to THE George Jackson's material. Your 45 still not arrived mate... so I'll give the man a chase. Oh, and still lovin' your CD by the way. Sean
  4. As you know, I'm always right John Just bleedin' colour blind! Sean
  5. Crikey Chalky... 50, 60 and 80.....that's just mental! Where do you do your shopping, Harrods? Must admit though, Record prices never cease to amaze me. It's one thing to put a price like that on the cover in a Sales Box but would anyone actually 'buy' this 45 at that price? Just Gobsmackin' Good old tune though.... but not for me at that kinda' money mate. Sean
  6. The early 70's Boot / Pressing is Black on White. This is Genes last Constellation 45 and the copy on ebay (172) is an original, however most copies of this bear the Constellation "Star" design.... such as the one below. Just about a bargain I'd have said. Sean
  7. No I'm not. I've definately got a copy on the "Ten" label. Think it's a 12" from 6-7 years later. How funny? Sean
  8. Well, certainly seems to be more Green uns than Blue Uns! I wouldn't be surprised if it was pulled on UK Motown and only Demos snook out. Eyup.... Haven't I got a copy on UK "Ten" label? Just came to me... or am I talking Bo**locks? Sean
  9. Hi John, As you know, the LP was always knocking around and 'two a penny'. I've had 2 or 3 over the years. All good tracks. Agree on "How Could it Be" as well mate. Top little choon. Sean
  10. Hi Blake, Got to be the one on Henry Shed's "Something's Drastically Wrong" on Cream. One Dirty Break On That Baby... Let Me Tell Ya! Sean
  11. So right Brian. Eugene''s got a new album out on his own label anytime now. Aaron Broomfield's "Gonna Miss Ya" on Mountain is a goodly 80's dancer. Talented bunch. Sean
  12. Wot? A memory problem John? Sean
  13. How about these two? Alternate takes of both songs. Will they be on the new release? Sean
  14. Think I've only ever seen green demos of this Ken. Anyone got/seen a Blue Motown issue? Sean On the other hand (see King diamond Thread) I can't tell Blue from Green!
  15. Jack Montgomery "Dearly Beloved" always does it for me! A Fist Clenchingly Brilliant Boozed Up Stormer! Sean
  16. Got all mine finished tonight! I've got 22 addresses.... is that correct? They'll be going out on Monday! Have a great weekend all! Some superb tunes to get through over the next few days. Sean
  17. Well Done Shane and Thanks. Onwards & Upwards! Sean
  18. It's exactly as the description says: "This is the Original UK Issue on the ABC record label" The actual US original of Bobby Hutton was LP only. The actual US original of Willie Hutch is a very rare 45. Nevertheless, this copy is a legitimate pairing by ABC in the UK... not a Bootleg. Sean
  19. Its definately on the flip of "I'm In Love With You Girl" John. Not sure if its on the back of Ella Weez as well (I only got the acetate). Great record. Seem to remember it being covered, once upon a time, as Ronnie McNeir. Sean
  20. Be prepared for a 10,000 word explanation then from him... if it's who I'm pretty sure it is Sean
  21. You won't be dissapointed. Fraser Dunn in a Mellow Mood... down in the Downbeat Lounge! A CD compilation I'll be revisiting over and over again. Awesome Stuff! Sean
  22. Blue / Green..... Whatever! I did say "If My Memory Serves Me Right" and you know as well as I do what the old Brain Cells are like at OUR time of life! Forgot it was your copy John that I'd seen, but I knew it was different to mine. Sean
  23. Just remembered one, and if he was online at the minute I'd get him to tell you himself. Some years ago Tats Taylor & Gilly called on this old lady in Detroit and were talking to her about her career in music. Tats (being Tats) works his way into her kitchen and starts going through her laundry basket (as you do). When he gets to the bottom he finds a pristine copy of "I Have No Choice" on Big Hit. Now, this old dear was none other than Ms Matthews herself, but as for the 45 in the laundry basket.... how on earth did it get there? Sadly, this desirable 45 is now beaten up and covered in Brown Sauce, like most of his collection, but it's still a particularly interesting and very true "How Did It Get There" story I reckon. Sean
  24. Think I've a spare Steve. If you're not sorted b4 hand I'll check at the weekend. Sean
