  1. Hi Gene, Also came out on White Vinyl and a mate of mine says he has seen a Brown copy, but I think he's talking out of his arse. Is it any good? Sean
  2. African American Politician Adam Clayton Powell used it as his slogan as he rose to become America's Second Black Congressman, in 1945. It was consequently adopted by the Civil Rights Movement. I have the 45 (though not the LP) "Keep The Faith Baby" which is a recording of his famous "Keep the Faith" speech. Sean Hampsey
  3. Yes, but he could bloody dance, couldn't he Peter. Ah yes... i remeber it well! Sean
  4. Superb piece of Journalism. Incredible artist, so revered over here, whereas US recognition for his contribution is clearly well overdue. I am the very proud owner of the original RCA Acetate of "Cracking Up Over You". The ULTIMATE 'Northern' Soul record. What a Voice! Respect due. Sean
  5. Great Pete, It was posted last December on here... but well worth a repeat! It's from Hugh Hefner's 'Playboy After Dark' recorded was broadcasted 25th Nov 1968 along with Bill Cosby, Soupy Sales & James Brown. Wunnerful Stuff! Sean
  6. Looks awesome Pete. Just love that Ozzie stuff. Love the solid centres, Quality printing and Superior (thicker) vinyl. Lovely Sean
  7. Yes it certainly was Eddie. Read the Book. Bobby Womack "Midnight Mover". It's all in there mate! Absolutely love the record. Cheers Sean
  8. I've heard of this before and that on the same weekend they appeared at The Wheel. I remember speaking to the late James Hamilton (Dr Soul) and he told me that they were the Best live act he'd ever seen... although I think he saw them at The Apollo if my memory serves me right (Harlem... not Manchester). Sean
  9. FANTASTIC STEVE! How many years have I been trying to get you down there? You travelin' alone... or is young Mr Wade with you?
  10. Better still Steve, come to The PITCHES Party at Prestatyn or Soul Essence at Yarmouth and I'll play it... just for you!
  11. Can't believe anyone would think that Wally Cox of "This Man" 'fame' is the Hiram Holliday charachter (who I remember well as a kid walking a Tightrope). As Steve suggests, ignore the 'web sources' that state this and use your ears! THIS MAN is a SOUL SINGER! Sean
  12. I have the Jap CD but I also believe it came out on Jap vinyl. Plumby?
  13. Womack is my Main Man. Had to wrestle him off the front of my car one night in Manchester. And I won! Can't fault this particular Womack track. The unreleased "Runaway" which was, sadly, left off The Poet LP. If you want to hear it in full... I'll see you at the PITCHES Party at Prestatyn! Here's a taster! Sean PS: Also, can't believe nobody mentioned "I Don't Wanna Be Hurt By Your Love Again". Only one of the top 10 Soul records of all time!
  14. Good call Alan. I remember dropping this one night at THORNE, to critical acclaim! A superb piece of WOMAGIC! Sean
  15. DJ's - The Pitches Boys - Tats Taylor - Kevin Briscoe - and yours truly, Sean Hampsey. Format - Three, 50 year old, northern blokes, giving up their bedtime Horlicks to bring you an eclectic mix of 100% solid soul music - classy oldies, cream crossover, total exclusives and 'monsters in the making'. We look forward to welcoming swingers and friends, new and old, to our truly Soulful Soiree. If you never went to PITCHES, come and hear for yourselves what all the fuss was about. If you were a PITCHES regular, you already know... and you won't want to miss this Four Hour session for the world! Well up for it! And looking forward to meeting the scores of Soul Sourcers that I'd just love... to put a face... to the name! Sean Hampsey
  16. That's about right Mel. But would be more than twice that if it was the Carl Sims version of the same song, on Wet Paint. Sean
  17. I'd give you £40 any day of the week Mel! Sean
  18. Hi Steve, Looking forward to getting habitual in the Soul Essence, of Great Yarmouth, with you next month! Sean
  19. And it's bloody fantasatic! Sean
  20. Lyn Collins did a SUPERB version! Sean Hampsey
  21. I have "One Mint Julep" on UK Columbia. Sean
  22. This one. We're all 'working' late.
  23. Not bad that... from a Bumper 'Soul Pack' Blake! Really good spending time with you and Nicky on Saturday night BTW. Just Top People. Sean
  24. Blimey, another one pissed! What is it with you lot. Blindo on a Tuesday night... and me still at the office... trying to write a Press Release. If it ends up with a Quote from Peter Cook in it rather than the Chairman, I'm blaming you Burton! Sean
