  1. I think I was typing on behalf of all of us Pete
  2. So what's all that about Brett?
  3. Yeh, but didn't you say "Flies wide open" Steve?
  4. Come on then Ash.... lets have a few that were big in our village, when we were lads.... Remember 1812 - Snide - Melly Parker (RIP) - The Mighty 'Elf' - Stu Newman (first pair of Levis in South Yorkshire) - Les Hall (Big Temps Fan) - Steve King (Big Tops Fan).... Great days Ashley. Great Tunes! I'd never heard the term 'Northern Soul' until some years later. They were all just Soul records to me (and still are!). Sean Hampsey
  5. Flipside of We The People's Lion 45, Making My Daydream Real, "What You Done For Me" (The better side IMO) uses the phrase... beautifully! Certainly not a phrase we use over here. Anyone else think we could get it going in the UK? As in... "Look at that fit bird. She's got my nose wide open" Second thoughts... Maybe not.
  6. The Jeannie Dee 45 was produced by Elbert when he lived here, apparantley. Dont know if they are same record but most probably. Sean
  7. Excellent Steve. I wondered where they'd all gone!
  8. Yup. I owe you that!
  9. So what's wrong with being a talentless amateur? There's loads of seriously big money records out there that are just as bad as this... ! Good call Martin!
  10. Sorry mate no. Just my bloody awful sense of humour! It is bloody awful though isn't it, in truth I've never heard the flip... and it might be a cracker... but i doubt it!. Had ya'll going though eh! Sean
  11. Sorry Guys, the flipside of this 45 is quite probably the next Almeeta Latimore. Much better and could go bigger if there were more copies around. Normally goes for £350+... if you can find one! Can't believe we all missed it. Sean
  12. Yeh... that's right Debbie... I just said that above! Think its really funny that you said "Scotty is my bother". I'm sure you're right honey! Hope you're well. Best to Howard. Sean
  13. Good stuff Peter. Half expected 'em to be in Black & White Good picture of Mick Scott. That lad could certainly dance (all night long). I used to run the coach from Sheffield, Rotherham & Doncaster. Donnie was the last call, but Scotty stil always ended up on the back seat... along with all the other naughty boys . South Yorks crew were fantastic. Packed the coach every week. Also, I always remember the lads from Hull being a really dedicated bunch (Nellie ring any bells?). Ken will have been a very young lad back then. They all were! Loved doing Clifton Hall but "After Dark" cleggy was every bit as good. Main reason was the crowd were tremendous. It seemed that everything I ever played packed the floor. Of course these were the days when the Northern Scene was far more open minded and progressing nicely. As a result we manage to break some incredible stuff! It was a year or two later before the brakes came on... and the whole thing started going in reverse. Would love to see your Clifton Hall pics Peter. Thanks a bunch Sean
  14. Yeh... then when you offer trades you get... "what kind of 'Recad' is this? Is it a rare 'Recad'? Never asks "is it a Good Recad?"
  15. GREAT Shot Ken. Crofty looks really well on there. Forgot all about young Pep, a smashing lad. Stil see little Debbie (now all grown up) here and there... and Howard (another smashing lad). Keep 'em coming Ken. Sean
  16. The English version also came out on UK Fontana too!
  17. The Links not working for me Pete. Shocking price on FF. Was always one of the very hardest RicTics. Would have made £50 over 20 years ago.
  18. If you really want to know everything there is to know about Billy Sharae, Tony, contact his son Billee Wilson. His email address is fathersdream40@aol.com Sean
  19. Careful.... Reminds me of when I asked my 14 year old what he'd been doing with his mates, out while 9.00pm. He said... "nothing really".... ...so I said "Oh... just Bumming huh?" He nearly fell over in disgust and embarrassment! Poor little fella, I'd forgotten it had a different meaning these days... especially to a 14 year old. Lovely word. While I'm off work this week I aim to reclaim it!
  20. Yes. thanks Steve, it was me (Awesome memory you've got mate!). I played it at Cleggy when new. Even reviewed it at one time in your esteemed mag at the time. So many great tunes we turned over at the time. Very gratifying to see them remembered, played and talked about all these years later.
  21. It's not the same guy as the artist on ABC (of "Its All Over" fame). The guy on Lanor is a White "Swamp" music singer.
  22. It's a 'Global Village' pub. Plenty of room for scores of 'em!
  23. Yeh.. I spotted that too... ... but the Autographs are sound! Cheers Mick Sean
  24. How much do you want for it? pm me.
