  1. Happy Birthday, Big Man, and Best wishes from your S. Yorks Crew. You'll have a Ball! Sean
  2. A big Thank You to all for not buying the two tickets I had for sale. Fortune took a turn for the better and I've just returned from one of the best live gigs in years! Highlight's of the night for me had to include Ronnie McNeir taking lead on a very moving "Ask The Lonely".... just incredible!.... and the Temptations 1997 'Modern' Soul monster 'Stay' with the immortal "Since I Lost My Baby" a close third. PRICELESS!!! Sean
  3. Hi Alan, I've got the ZZ Hill LP, USA UA, and always rated ZZ's version of the song too. "Two Sides To Every Story" is another fave track on that particular album. Sean
  4. Agree Dave, The Mckinley Jackson sound very evident on the Reggie Garner ABC tracks and The Popcorn Wylie ABC LP. Often wondered if their was a Lamont version of "How Can I Lose You" or "That Aint The Way You Make Love" knocking around. Good to see you last night Dave. A corkin' night! Sean
  5. Its not the same OOTP label. Totally unrelated except that its also a Bootleg, done in the early eighties (around 83) combining two classic oldies and two monster records of the time.
  6. Your Loss Simon! Another 10 years, when your tastebuds have developed, you'll be chasing it!
  7. JOE TEX - ALL THE HEAVEN A WOMAN REALLY NEEDS - DIAL Serious Bargain this. Getting loads of Crossover spins! Awesome 'Womackesque' Dancer.... and you'll never see it cheaper! Sean
  8. Don't get me started Alan, Still gonna be an awesome show. These guys are the real deal 'official' groups and I'm well brassed off that I can't go. BTW: As a footnote, the Wickersley mob were actually made up from Catcliffe and Darnall respectively. Fudgie was the lead singer of the Temps and Neil Griffiths (affectionately known as Little Nig to the band) was in the Tops. Think you ought to treat the Mrs, don't you? In which case I'll swap both tickets for the Jimmy Boyns (since you seem to be offloading all yer old vinyl). Best wishes to Dennis & Keith Sean
  9. Hi all, I have TWO Fantastic seats for the Temptations & 4 Tops concert, this coming Sunday in Sheffield. Due to unforseen circumstances I've got to give them up. They are on Block C Row 6. Face value of £32.50 (£65.00 for the pair). Will sell at £45.00 to the first person to pm me for a definate purchase. I'll be away from my PC for the next few hours - but will pick up later. Many thanks Sean
  10. Hi John, I've got a Canadian Tamla Motown 45 and I might have done the CD from that but I could also have copied it from the Def-I-Ni-Tions LP (although its a while ago - so I'm not sure). Isn't it just magnificent! Sean
  11. Artistics Whispers Coral demo NM £125 Misprint? You mean Jackie Wilson, I presume! Some nice stuff there!

  13. Amazing that Patrick, he only lives 2 minutes from me and mine's not arrived yet. What's up Bull? Making me pay for my 6 month delay? Or are you gonna give it me on Saturday night?
  14. Seem to recall Paul Cakebread's no longer with us, Ken, but I guess you knew that. Passed away about 3-4 years ago.
  15. Hi Mick, I remember the Greek Frank Beverley 45... but I thought it said it was made in Greece on the label. The Typography on this one LOOKS like its Irish, but you're right, it would normally say it was 'Made in The Republic Of Ireland'. The UK copy came out on Ember... which also released LOADS of stuff in the Irish Republic, so this puzzles me.... ...and i want it! Sean
  16. Amen Steve, Always look forward to my annual catch up with the Clark boys at Soul Essence. Love having a rummage through their incredibly interesting Sales Boxes... and a really good bit of banter. Ian is a Soul DJ with truly excellent taste... ...now there's a Real rarity! Sean
  17. Yes.... and also on a UK 45! Flip to club classic "Ride Your Pony" on ACTION 4535. Superb double sider! Sean
  18. Back now from Business trip. Thanks for the inclusion, Chris. Sean
  19. Just for the record. We played this at PITCHES as a new release when the Jap CD first came out. Kev Briscoe played it off the CD. No complaints, just applause. So much ball@cks about what 'can' and 'can't' be played. Doctrines spread by idiots with vested interests... and no feckin' ears. It's all about the music!
  20. Steve, If you'd like to take advantage of mine, I'm sure she'd be happy to oblige! Hopefully she's got ya'll sorted in my absence. If not... she'll be on the carpet in the morning! Sean
  21. I'm away on business this week and despite the trials and tribulations (which I guess most are aware of) the 'Soul Within Reach' CD is being mailed from my office this week. Bugger of it is, I'd done the master copy months ago, but it got washed up in the flood, before I got to duplicate it, and is now on some refuse dump, somewhere in deepest Derbyshire! I then spent several months trying to salvage the remnants of my collection before being able to cobble enough material together to re-record it (as faithfully as I could remember) and as per the original. Wonder if some hobo will find it (and the hundreds of other CD & vinyl pieces)... and end up a devotee as a result! Either way.... mine will be with you shortly. Hope you get as much pleasure from it (when it arrives) as I did all of yours. Many thanks Sean PS: I've an address list which my faithful PA, Stephanie, is using to despatch with, however, I'm unsure if its kosher. If someone could forward me a current list I'd be much obliged.
  22. Yes Rich, 6006 is a v nice Group Soul thing. Full title is "Please Take This Heartt Of Mine Girl" Flip side is "Don't Stop". Sean
