  1. Just seen Rods post. Thats it - Mr Blue.
  2. You don't need to contact him through eBay. It's Brad Hales. He's on here!
  3. Hi Rob, Yes I've just checked and I've got a Black 108 and a White one too. Each one looks just like the negative of the other. And as Tony says, I've just played 'em both and they are a different mix to the 102 copy. Funny that, I always knew the Black one was different but hadn't realised that the 108 White one was different to the 102 White one. Incidentally.... isn't "I've Come To Save You" one of Steve Mancha's finest recordings! Just incredible! Sean PS: Gettin excited now Rob. Any news on that there...?
  4. Fairly common misprint, Nev. The 're arranged' version I've had a copy (might still have it) and seen several over the years. Sean
  5. If you don't hear from 'em before noon, Martin, can I pick it up from your place on the way to Chester Zoo (I've promised to take the little un). Will have it back around tea time! How was the night BTW?
  6. I can't see a 1,000 copies of Don Gardner "We're Gonna Make It Big" on a 45... never mind a Cheating Kind!
  7. Agree it does. Loved it since it first came out... many moons ago! Quality!
  8. I've got it. The record is orange with Red Logo and Black type. And the flip 'Sitting at Home' is a cracking side.
  9. It's a really nice, early (old fashioned) stomper Steve. One of Betty's first. God knows the value? Never comes up for sale. Sean
  10. S'true. I bought one for a quid... played it out once... ...and then sold it for a tenner! Quids in!
  11. Was always my last record (end of the night) at Clifton Hall, Steve. Always cleared the floor then too... (and therefore had the desired effect) ... but it's still a wunnerful bit of Soul Music innit! Sean
  12. Shocked Bemused You're missing out mate You're kidding... right? Aren't you?
  13. You're a very lucky guy. Thelma Lindsey is a ten times better record than Florence bloody whatsit! (IMO)
  14. Superb Malc, One of my absolute favourites! True story this... About 30 years ago I was desperate for a copy on UK Tamla Motown (TMG 503) and had spied a minter, up for bids, at an Auction at the Piccadily Hotel in Manchester. I was sure I'd be the only serious bidder in the place for this particular 45, but when the lot came up, soon found I had a very serious rival. The bidding started at less than a fiver... but me and the other guy, across the room, soon drove the price up to over 20 quid... in 50p increments! In the end, when it became clear that it was out of my reach I finally conceded and threw the Towel in. It made about 22 pounds (From memory) a lot of money back then for something worth less than half that at the time. After the Auction, I sought out the rival, succesful, Bidder. "TMG 503 then... well done" I said to him and held out my hand to congratulate him on his win. He stared back with a blank expression "Huh... what's that?" "The Miracles 45... you must ba a British Motown collector... that's a pretty hard number..." No he says......... "I'm an 'Ooh Baby Baby' collector" "I've got over 40 different versions.... (............and here's the punchline)... ... but until today I never knew the Miracles had done it!" "and I Always wonderd who the William Robinson who wrote it was!" You coulda knocked me down with a durex!
  15. We had similar discussion in Oct 06. See thread here. /index.php?showtopic=35082 Sean
  16. £5....!!! ...and has the added Bonus of one of the greatest records in the history of the universe on the flip in "That's How It Is" Priceless.
  17. Jackie Wilson - Higher And Higher - got to be the toughest! Could never dance to it and always ended up in knots (although I did get beat up by a couple of Bouncers to it... many years ago!) Great record though.
  18. I am. Don't know the value though. How much do you want for it? Sean
  19. OK Steve, We covered that one off on Post 34. Benelew said he saw a copy in 80/81... even before Stafford. Incredible how, even then, the record had been played on the Northern scene for 10 years or so before anyone knew about a US copy.
  20. Just sell it to yourself, Brian Problem solved!
  21. Sorry Mal, it's not ZZ Hill, but Jesse Butler.
  22. I saw that on eBay. Think I bidded on it? From memory, it had a Lime Green sleeve and I think you might be right about the tree. Otherwise... I know nothing!
  23. Would be difficult to change my mind on this... since I've never made up my mind in the first place. I'm happy to concede that its not strictly speaking a re-issue (and thought I already had done).... as there was no first issue on UK Cream that came before this one. However, if the Peachtree issue is the 'Original' issue then although the Cream copy is the first UK issue then it can't also be an 'Original' issue.... that's got to be pretty obvious. So... would it meet the 'elitist' OVO criteria? Probably not.... but it wouldn't stop me playing it because I don't have one on Peachtree... and because I collect Soul on UK labels regardless of when they were issued!
