  1. Afraid its on Keyman, not Mirwood...(with an alternative version on Minit) and these days a good bit more than £20. Sean
  2. "Instant Nostalgia!" In the early 70's at Wigan, Dave always had lovely UK Demo's for sale. And I was always a sucker for 'em. My Grover Mitchell, Larry Saunders, Jean Plum, Milt Matthews, Debbie Taylor and loads more all came from Dave. A Top Bloke. Sean
  3. What do I think? Its an OK version of a Staple Singers Masterpiece mate... that's what I think. Sean
  4. This is really an iconic work. Certainly for me it is. The soundtrack to my early teens. The set was broadcast on BBC radio in 1970/71 over 5 weekends and I taped 'em all, religiously, on Reel To Reel, prior to obtaining a vinyl set. Course this was in the days when 'rarity' meant very little. Quality was all that really mattered. And decent Soul Music was scarce on any format. Rarely will you find such earth shatteringly brilliant music all in one place. Probably nowhere more than in this one boxed set. And the presentation alone blew us all away at the time. That Voice! "This Is The Motown Sound" over the strains of "Reach Out I'll Be There" Wow! Wouldn't swap my set for a golden chopper! Sean
  5. Correct Mel. I bought the box 45 set. The bonus 45 "Do Like I Do" was indeed TMG 1000. Sean
  6. Robin Hood country!
  7. I may have mentioned it before on here... but anyone got, or ever seen, or heard of, a copy of Revelation Movement "Sweet Talk And Melodies" on UK RSO? The 'Revelation' copy is easy enuff... but "Revelation Movement"? Sean
  8. Played it a couple of times at Bradford, Jock. No more than twice. A Real Floor Clearer! They just weren't ready for it I guess (got an armful of those ). Certainly agree that Andy's broken* and been behind a lot of great choons that he never got credit for. Sean *But this one's mine!
  9. My old "Sunny & The Sunliners" cover up from early 80's. Never really took off back then... but I've heard it played out a few times recently. Seen a Demo for £50 a couple of months ago. Sean
  10. Private Joke between me and Steve, Malc. Goes back about 10 years to when me and an infamous Record Mogul had a fall out! Best the guy could do was call me a Poser Man! Hope you are well too, my 'oldest' friend! Sean
  11. You're on Steve. Poser Man
  12. £11 in '74 - a bit steep Ian, but to be fair I think a Duke Browner would get you an entire wardrobe nowadays. That said, I sold a Minter in 84 for only £20. Wouldn't give the miserable dirge House room. Think I'd prefer Tim's Badly torn Jumper any day! Sean
  13. Yes it is Bull. We went back for it though a few days later, if you recall! But not before he got 50% off first! Legend! Sean
  14. Good bet Jas... ...It was Roadhouse Oldies in Baltimore where the book came from. Good shop in the day. Is it still open? Sean
  15. I always thought it suited you. Course, you were a lot slimmer back then!
  16. Guys:- Matchie - Always used to blow me away Paul Temple - Smooth as Silk Girls:- Kate Barker - North West Gal - Light as a feather - Fabulous Judy Oates - The late Great Judy - She was truly Fantastic! Sean
  17. Dead right on Double Barrel and Monkey Spanner - Dave & Ansil Collins Fairground legends... used to BANG outta those speakers! Jackie Wilson's "Sweetest Feeling" always reminds me of the Waltzer (and a lovely little Skinhead Bird called Jane... who I still never quite got over!) Think it was the sheepskin coat! Sean
  18. Hi mate, As we were discussing earlier, Kurt is a serious Detroit collector. He will have had anything decent away before you and Rob got there. I'll ask him if he remembers what he got out of it! Sean PS: Goldie says Hi!
  19. Nah, just my burgeoning archive of crap records Ian Wish I'd had the Mutha in my cellar last summer, during the flood! Sean
  20. And here's the boy wonder (Just before the time when Malc Burton met him at the Tailors). How sweet!
  21. A prophetic title... don't you think? There's one thing I think he forgot!
  22. Oh... what about this for a goodie "Queen Of Fools".... how creative was this fellow!
  23. And the flipside "Panic" (another great simon soussan original)
  24. Here's the very original "Love & Desire"
  25. It's a Triffic read! It's got page after page of B/W images of Motown / Detroit Acetates and rarest of rare Motown & US Soul 45's. Tats bought a copy in Baltimore when we were there 11 years ago and I photocopied it... cos they only had the one copy! Sean
