  1. Sorry, Steve, I thought it was you that was slightly premature (as usual). So are we doing only one offering per letter?
  2. Breakout = Mitch Ryder
  3. Breakaway = Steve Karman (Jimmy Radcliffe) Breakaway = Ernie Bush Breakaway = Toni Basil Breakaway = Valentines
  4. It's a Burnt orange / Brownie coloured label. Black type. Didn't know it had been reissued. Is it indemand? Had it for years. Must dig it out (no pun intended). Sean
  5. Hi there, Jimmy Bo Horne: Sweet Love Power is on the DIG label. Sean
  6. And here it is! I shit thee not!!
  7. Good point. Haven't got time to explain. Am busy working on solutions for Global Warming and trying to come up with ways to wipe out thirld world debt. Will be back to deal with this burning issue later!
  8. No 45 release Steve. It's only on the 'Natural Resources' LP. Sean
  9. ARGO is no more. Hasn't been around for Decades. It 'was' a sub of Chess, but it no longer exists. The individual who bootlegged this record 'copied' the style of the Argo label to try and pass it off as some kind of legitimate issue. But its not. Its just a copy. And not a very good one. It's a bit like a photocopied five pound note. It kinda looks like a real one. But its not! Sean
  10. To be honest, it wouldn't have needed a great deal of 'superior knowledge' on that one... ...but thanks all the same! Sean
  11. Sorry, no - It's a Boot as in 'not a proper ARGO release'. It's just a Boot 'mocked up' as an ARGO release. Sean https://www.motown-vinyl.co.uk/index.php?ma...products_id=783 Complete with Doug Banks on the flip! :-)
  12. FINAL SUNDAY NIGHT BUMP
  13. Gawd knows. That is truly bloody awful, Pete. Sean
  14. Quick Bump - now expecting final offers! Still some items with no offers on at all - so every chance you could grab yourself a real bargain here! Thanks a lot Sean
  15. https://www.mp3.com/albums/49598/reviews.html https://www.answers.com/topic/darlene-love Couple of links here referring to a 70's reunification with Spector. Not conclusive, I know. What else was recorded during these sessions? Disn't realise she'd appeared in all four 'Lethal Weapon' movies (Danny Glovers wife). Sean
  16. Here's one snippet from 'The Best Of Darlene Love". Even more exciting is the inclusion of 1975's "Lord, if You're a Woman." This powerful track was recorded during Spector's ill-fated mid-'70s comeback and should have been a hit. Love sounds strong as ever, cutting loose like she never would have ten years earlier, and Spector still had magic up his sleeve. Sadly, it was not to be and Love went back to backup work and the oldies circuit. She left behind an incredible body of work, however, and the best truly is here. Sean
  17. Definately mid 70's Joe. I remember it coming out and Dave Godin reviewing it - as a new release. I bought it on his recommendation and never really rated it at the time. 15-20 years later heard John Kinghan play it out and I (almost) changed my mind. Sean
  18. On Contempo? Never seen one o' them! Sean
  19. Thanks Harry. Anything not taken goes either on eBay tomorrow night... or back in the box! Cheers Sean
  20. Beat me to it ya rascal! Ok, I'll go with Roshell Anderson "Know What You're Doing When You Leave"... Great thread Blake. Sean

  23. Here you go mate... Three versions all on YouTube. Junior Walker https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h0xzcavGrj4...feature=related Bay Brothers https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=04IhKJk9CV8 California Raisins - Buddy Miles https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A6PvR2fABl8 Even though I first broke the California Raisins Version, Junior is still the don for me! Sean
  24. Hi Peter, Loads of versions of this great song, written by Johnny Bristol, Harvey Fuqua and Vernon Bullock. Jr Walker had the Soul / Motown smash with it! It was a Pop Soul hit when new. Rarest version is most probably the Bay Brothers (White Pop Act) on US Millenium which gained favour in Modern / Crossover circles around 15 years ago... and I think played first (as I recall) by Rick Scott. I was almost certainly first to play the California Raisins version (because, if people ever needed a different version to Junior Walker, it was certainly better than the Bay Bros) around the same time (early Yarmouth). I played it as Buddy Miles (which, of course, it really is) and I recall it did cause a stir at the time. Also there are versions by Younghearts, Hearts of Stone, Motherlode, Electrifying Casmeres and and and! Jr Walker was never really a 'Northern' tune back in the day - always a straight 'club' sound that gained favour at Pitches early 90's, along with a host of other great Popular / Soul tunes... that now seem to be 'Northern' staple classics. Sean
  25. Rare LP on US or UK. It's listed here in a UK Stax release list: https://staxman.co.uk/staxukalbums.html Sean
