  2. It's Christopher Harley. He changed his name in the early 70's when Steve Harley came to prominence.
  3. Some of you boys only seem to come on here for the laugh. Soul Music and Records are serious subjects FFS!!!
  4. A really great record. Years ago we used to play a version by James Royal on UK CBS. Not as good as JW... but a nice collectors piece! Sean
  5. Here's the proper one. That copy looks to me every inch a Modern pressing - Even uses a Microsoft font on the smaller print! No idea who did it though. What's on the flipside, Pete? Should be "Feel Alright Tonight" And what about sound quality? Any good?
  6. Bizarre indeed... ...He's even got a copy of Bobby Bland's "Yum Yum Tree" that plays Nancy Wilson's "End Of Our Love" https://cgi.ebay.com/NANCY-WILSON-THE-END-O...1QQcmdZViewItem
  7. Record room still not sorted then Sean ? Grand re-opening expected mid November.
  8. Ah! My dearest Godson, Joe. Do wish him well for me (I have written him into the will). Glad to hear of Lady B's good health. Please give her my fondest. My 6 are all well... and keeping me poor. Please apologise to my Godson Joe, on my behalf. Sean
  9. View from my office window... this afternoon. What's it like in the Black Country today?
  10. Yeh... but you didn't need to continue the policy thereafter, Malc! How are you? All good? Sean
  11. Only kidding Pete...couldn't resist... ...but there was a 15 minute ceasefire that I couldn't attribute to anything else!
  12. The original quote / declaration was by Dave Godin himself in his Blues & Soul article September 30 1975, where his column that issue was headlined "Northern Soul Is Dead - Long Live Soul Music!". An actual 'historical fact'. Sean
  13. Kin' Brilliant Dave. I never read that before. Just Fabulous. Many, many thanks. Sean
  14. "Thank You Girl" 'Eye' label is Jacksonville, Florida. Sean
  15. Spot on, by a long way, Pete! Very rare record (£3-4k). MGM 'Beatles' issue of the same record is about a fiver. Sean
  16. Very Rare one that mate. Think Dennis has a copy! Sean
  17. Dobyne was, of course, one of the 'Artistics'. His "Spent A Lot Of Years" on Kwanza is a deepie / ballad well worth picking up (IMO). Sean
  18. Yeh, pretty sure I have the issue of that 45. Yellow & Black label Sebastian? Sean
