  2. Your ears don't fail you JB. Both songs written in a partnership with one Arlinda Whitehead. Sean
  3. I haven't heard one Sean. It's a really great record. Common enough on 12" but I've always seen it as pretty scarce and always quite pricey for a major label 80's 45. Still, worth every penny for the quality mate! Sean
  4. The 'first time'? How many other times were there Derek? Sean
  5. Hi there, sadly not. He's gone very quiet these past few years. Most doubt he'll ever tour again. Sean

  7. I played it on Solar Radio too Jim. Lovely tune mate that needs more exposure. Sean
  8. Just Soul spin of mine from a few years ago Jim. Is that where you heard it? Sean
  9. Hi Steve, no I haven't. Will check it out. Yes, agree, a Shout special would be fab! Try to include The Exciters 'You Know It Aint Right' an old Bradford spin of mine that I loved to bits back then! Sean
  10. Same track came out on Shout, didnt it Steve. Nice too! On the face of it, I think I'd say the label name is just a coincidence.... Sean
  11. This must be the 'Jimmy Sherman' alt version played by Andy Dyson for a few years now (Abtone Acetate). Still the Coasters, by all accounts, but a different lead singer. Sean
  12. Originally unreleased and made available to us some 15 years ago on the Crazy Cajun / Edsel CD "The Soul Queen Of Texas". No acetate that I'm aware of. Sean
  13. There is, but its pretty scarce. This one advertised by Flynny on here less than 6 months ago. Good luck Pete. Fab record! Sean
  14. Thanks all, some triffic recent additions to the list. We've smashed through the 100 and I'm ready to call that quits, if you are! I'll finish the list off with something that featured a lot in my 'early hours' sets this past couple of years. A stunning piece of 'Inspirational Crossover' and a great vocal performance on a fairly topical track from the Fantastic Violinaires. Play it loud and enjoy! Cheers all and thanks again. Your contributions are enjoyed and appreciated by us all. Sean TOP TIPS FOR 2015 1. Ronnie Brown "Soul " Hotline. 2. Love, Warmth & Affection feat. Ralph Weeks - Talking 'Bout Love - Week-End 3. 16. Cheers Barry. Hope you're well mate. Sean
  17. Yep - That'd be about right Martin. I thought I must have attended about a dozen before I was brought in to DJ! Brilliant mate. Thanks,
  18. Brilliant Martin, thanks. So 31st October 1980 was the first one. That's really great buddy. Cheers, Sean
  19. Garry at Black Grape sold his stock back to the US to Craig Moerer / RecordsbyMail Gary at Black Knight sold his stock to Tim Brown at Anglo American. Both top draw fellas, still loving the music and still around. Had a long chat with Gary (Black Knight) only a few weeks ago at Clifton Hall revival. Glad to say he was looking very well. Sean
  20. Yes agree. It was huge at the time. Arthur and Sam were great resources and never had a problem distributing some of the nice things they found on US trips (CoCo & Ben, Johnny Scott, etc.). Would like to see that venue / dates list mate. I think I have it that Clifton Hall started near the end of 1980 (October? - is that correct?) from memory, but have no idea of the date of the last one. Havent got a clue as to when Cleggy Winter Gardens kicked off again or ended. Just know we seemed to get through a mountain of records between us! Sean
  21. I'd have said the record was played for 2+ years Chalks. Stafford started after Clifton started but I think there was some 'crossover'. Has anyone got the actual dates as to when the nighters of the early 80's actually started and ended? Its always a grey area. Sean
