  1. Did you take that at the Qube EMS weekender? Your view... from the Decks?
  2. Bootleg Beeks!
  3. Now, don't you go taking your ball home Simon.
  4. No problem mate, each to his own is right. I just don't personally dig it as a Soul record - it was the biggest dissapointment to me when I got it and played it - as I've got pretty much everything on the logo and felt this was one of the poorer records on there. I can see its appeal to dancers.... but I won't be playing it! :-) Sean
  5. Venue is there! Date TBC (still Battling) Tats always plays Johnnie Mae cos he promised her that he always would. He found it in her washing basket.
  6. It's in the Diary!
  7. Well said Brett - I'm with you on this. Got that Euro Pop Soul Disco kinda thing goin' on. Certainly one of the very worst Hi tracks. The words 'Barrel' & 'Scrape' spring to mind! Sean
  8. Yes "What you trying to do to me" is a real goodie - and an early Yarmouth play for me, you may recall Pat? Still think 'Over & Over' is the killer for the Northern floors though! Just a crackin' LP - but I don't believe there was ever a 12" of "Over & Over". If there's one out there..... I want it Sean
  9. Well I did say 'all' the Cleggy boys - which includes you Steve - and I also said Sam 'hammered' it which Richard and you (and me) didn't! "Over And Over" was never a big tune at Clifton Hall whereas at Cleggy it was a MONSTER! But I guess what you're saying is that we were all just copying Richard!
  10. Really gutted for you. Terrible thing to happen, having lost a load of my own precious vinyl not too long ago (in different circumstances) I have a strong inkling of how you must feel. I'm sure the good people on SS will be keeping an eye out should any of these 'appear' elsewhere. If you can recall more titles - as full a list as possible - it would be good to post it on here. Best regards Sean
  11. Yeh... sometimes it was like a carnival out there on the floor.... especially with the Preston crowd!
  12. Agree. All the Cleggy boys were Steve, as you'll recall. And none any more than Sam, who as Simon says really hammered this particular track. Find it hard to pinpoint the date, but we've both mentioned this on here before, when (and why) do you think the NS scene ceased to accept new or recent releases as commomplace? Sean
  13. He certainly did - and nowt wrong with Band AKA Simon!
  14. Yet another early 80's Cleethorpes Classic, one of several discussed on here these past few days. Always felt that we were ahead of our time! Great tune. Sean
  15. Oh yeh... ...and a pair of extra thick wooly socks
  16. Certainly his Gimp Mask is more popular up here than his Danny Williams tip! Sean
  17. You clever man Blake. Many moons ago. Its Luvverly. Sean
  18. Pleased to hear it Sunshine... Don't forget to wrap up warm for cleggy! Sean
  19. Hi Steve, If he's only a bit 'off key' then I'm Mario frickin' Lanza! Reckon he wouldn't even get through to Boot Camp on X Factor with that vocal mate - then again I've heard enough Eurovision Song Contestants in my time to know what works in Europe! Think maybe I need to drink a few gallon more, down at Soul Essence, cos it always sounded dire to these ears! Mmmmmmmmmm Nail on head? ...... just realised why you and Gavin like it! Sean
  20. She certainly did. I bought it when out on UK Safari. The Robert Parker original was always a fave in JA. Sean
  21. Hate to disagree with my Yarmouth Bretheren, but I'm with Benji and Denbo. The vocals on this record are shocking beyond belief. A definate 'run for cover' tune for me whenever I hear it played out. Some records are rare for a very good reason - and this is one of my top 10 candidates for scarcity over quality. There are others . Sean
  22. Black Nasty is a Male led group (more recent) Vocal version with different backing track. The Audrey Matthews / Sharon McMahon uses the same backing as Johnnie Mae Matthews... (Johnnie Mae being Female). Would be interested in seeing a scan of the Acetate. Sean
  23. Stunningly Soulful B Side to this 45 "I'm Controlled By Your Love" Sean
