  1. I thought you'd put Terry behind you Malc?
  2. Nah - I like both of them. Don't hate the Majik 45 either - its just poor in comparison to many other blinding Soul records on the label. Syl Johnson Bobby McClure Otis Clay Jean Plum OV Wright Al Green Eddie McGee Ann Peebles Quiet Elegance etc. And if you want a couple of decent, yet untypical, Hi sounds on the label, how about Imported Moods & Africano? The good stuff! Sean
  3. Ah well.... I was supposed to be out last Friday, Martin.... only Rain stopped play!
  4. Ronnie Dyson - We Can Make It Last Forever/Just A Little Love From Me -Mint-Columbia - £20 Awesome Record! A great twenty quidder! Sean
  5. In that case - I love it! Joking apart - it's no 'Certain Kind Of Lover" or 'Someday Baby' is it. The 70's has a lot to answer for.
  6. Well swerved Simon! You know that nobody rocks a place like me and the Fat guy!
  7. That's OK Bob - I knew it wasn't really a 'Euro' record. But its still got that Pop Soul Disco kinda thing goin' on. And is certainly one of the very worst Hi tracks to my ears. Sean
  8. Did you take that at the Qube EMS weekender? Your view... from the Decks?
  9. Now, don't you go taking your ball home Simon.
  10. No problem mate, each to his own is right. I just don't personally dig it as a Soul record - it was the biggest dissapointment to me when I got it and played it - as I've got pretty much everything on the logo and felt this was one of the poorer records on there. I can see its appeal to dancers.... but I won't be playing it! :-) Sean
  11. Venue is there! Date TBC (still Battling) Tats always plays Johnnie Mae cos he promised her that he always would. He found it in her washing basket.
  12. Well said Brett - I'm with you on this. Got that Euro Pop Soul Disco kinda thing goin' on. Certainly one of the very worst Hi tracks. The words 'Barrel' & 'Scrape' spring to mind! Sean
  13. Yes "What you trying to do to me" is a real goodie - and an early Yarmouth play for me, you may recall Pat? Still think 'Over & Over' is the killer for the Northern floors though! Just a crackin' LP - but I don't believe there was ever a 12" of "Over & Over". If there's one out there..... I want it Sean
  14. Well I did say 'all' the Cleggy boys - which includes you Steve - and I also said Sam 'hammered' it which Richard and you (and me) didn't! "Over And Over" was never a big tune at Clifton Hall whereas at Cleggy it was a MONSTER! But I guess what you're saying is that we were all just copying Richard!
  15. Really gutted for you. Terrible thing to happen, having lost a load of my own precious vinyl not too long ago (in different circumstances) I have a strong inkling of how you must feel. I'm sure the good people on SS will be keeping an eye out should any of these 'appear' elsewhere. If you can recall more titles - as full a list as possible - it would be good to post it on here. Best regards Sean
  16. Yeh... sometimes it was like a carnival out there on the floor.... especially with the Preston crowd!
  17. Agree. All the Cleggy boys were Steve, as you'll recall. And none any more than Sam, who as Simon says really hammered this particular track. Find it hard to pinpoint the date, but we've both mentioned this on here before, when (and why) do you think the NS scene ceased to accept new or recent releases as commomplace? Sean
  18. He certainly did - and nowt wrong with Band AKA Simon!
  19. Yet another early 80's Cleethorpes Classic, one of several discussed on here these past few days. Always felt that we were ahead of our time! Great tune. Sean
  20. Certainly his Gimp Mask is more popular up here than his Danny Williams tip! Sean
  21. You clever man Blake. Many moons ago. Its Luvverly. Sean
