  1. That's right Rod, I have "Everyday Fun" / "Whip Your loving On Me" on UK Light Blue Ember (69). Sean
  2. That's right mate. Tony was in the front drivers seat, Gilly was in the front passenger seat, Tats was in the back (no room in the front ) with the video camera. He played them a couple of tracks on cassette and sang over the top of them. Absolutely stunning stuff too! Think it was the same trip they had Melvin Davis in the car and he started singing "Thinking Of You" the Tim Murray tune which Melvin had written. At the time the record was massive over here so he directs them to the Dog track to see this mate of his... who turned out to be Tim Murray (a white guy) working on the gate! The video is really Great stuff... trip of a lifetime! Sean
  3. Detroit Duo - Several 45's under their belts. Tats & Gilly met Tony in a Toilet in a bar about 15 years ago. Tony was living in his car at the time. Long story short. Sean
  4. Henry shed is defo a Hi tune Binsy - and an awesome double sider. BIG Yarmouth spin for yours truly mate! Sean
  5. One of me all time Faves Peter. A Thorne classic! Must dig it out again for future sessions! Sean
  6. Great flipside on this Baz, "My Little Plaything" superb crossover! Sean
  7. Worth £40 just for the flipside IMO. Quality! Sean
  8. Feeling Nostalgic Steve? Sean
  9. No. It doesn't get much better Peter. Sean
  10. Hi John, Agree Mavis Staples is fabulous... isn't She always... but DT is 'even better' on this particular number (IMO). Close call though I'd say. Sean
  11. True..... True.... What a hugely underrated talent! Sean
  12. Nah.... you are the true FunkMeister! But (back on topic) go ahead and dig out the Debbie Taylor on Polydor. It's same song as Mavis Staples on Volt... but even better! Also LOVE her Today label LP "Comin Down On You" - "Touching You" and "Second To None" along with several others on there are out of this world deep! Sean
  13. Sorry mate - its just that I saw you tipping a deep soul 'Dells Soundalike' track the other day and thought how unusual for you. Got to admit - you are the funkiest around. Except when Bully's in town!
  14. Yeh, but I see you're starting to get into proper Soul music these days - so you'll need to dig it out.
  15. "I Have Learned To Do Without You" A STUNNING record Simon. Sean
  16. I've got UK Demos of both 45's. Don't see 'em very often. Even the issues of Debbie Taylor on UK seem thin on the ground these days. Both were, of course, HUGE Dave Godin tips back then. Anyone flipped over Jeff Perry "Love Don't Come No Stronger" recently? You might be in for a nice surprise! So... four great sides on two 45's. Quite a freebie, Neil. Sean
  17. Can't see how shorter can be better Dave - especially something as good as this 45 you could bring on the 12" for me! I'll take another listen to that middle bit... ...or maybe play it at the Friendship instead! Sean
  18. I don't think they're different mixes, as such, Val. On the "I Don't Wanna Leave You" side the intro is shorter (by a few seconds) on the UK copy. On the "Just Don't Pay" side, from memory its exactly the same UK & US but both sides are slightly more 'muffled' on the UK copy - which has probably more to do with mastering than mixing. I bought the UK copy as a new release - loved it and lived it for years. It was 3-4 years later that I first heard the US copy on a tape, heard the additional few seconds on the intro and was shocked at the clarity! So, although the UK copy is scarcer the US copy is the one to own to listen to! Sean
  19. One of the greatest platters in the history of the Universe. Both sides make this a Soul fans Dream 45. Sean
  20. You're welcome. A PITCHES monster from back in the day! Quality! Sean
  21. To be serious for a mo.... it was probably Darren at Cleggy. Not one of his best... but would have been right at the time!
