  1. Doh...... in that case yes!
  2. Logged in and shopping! Nice resource. Cheers Chalks! Sean
  3. Dunno for sure Dave. Rod Dearlove played it, at Yarmouth, before it came out on Sevens. May only have been an acetate. Don't remember seeing the label. Sean
  4. Bloody Name Dropper!!! You had a Beer with Gary Walsh! Don't believe ya!
  5. Agreed, "Recipe" is an AWESOME tune, Dave. Made a Sevens 45 over here with Edwin's "You're My Mellow" on the reverse. Sean
  6. Soundfile for both sides here! https://www.goear.com/listen.php?v=feb9614 Sean
  7. One here finished t'other week! https://cgi.ebay.es/CHAPTER-FIVE-you-cant-m...emZ180299987848 Sean
  8. Phew, For a minute I thought you were selling em and was gonna give you a few advertising tips!
  9. So where's Boba when you need him?
  10. No problem mate, I see where you're coming from and its not the Magna Carta! Either way is cool with me. Sean
  11. Agreed, the Jewel 45 was heavily inspired by Earth Wind & Fire, and when it was a 'newie' I was often asked for EWF's 'Paradise! EWF's "Happy Feeling" was Massive back in the day, by the way. Worth a spin or two now I reckon! Sean
  12. Tried to but a scan here but it won't attach for some reason!
  13. Sorry mate, just that you asked if NY based ABC flew the Impressions into New York. They didn't. They recorded (as did the Marvelows) in Chicago for the Chicago arm of ABC / ABC-Paramount. I guess its based on the purpose of the exercise. If this is a list of original labels that Soul Music recorded in Chicago can be found on, then given the 30 odd, pre-Curtom, top drawer Chicago Soul 45's (and loads of LP's) they recorded for ABC Chicago then I'd have said include it. If, on the other hand, its a list of labels that recorded exclusively Chicago artists in Chicago, then leave it out! Typically the label would say neither Chicago or New York - just to confuse us! Sean
  14. Great combination... you'd think it was made for the Northern scene!
  15. Mmmmmmmm this one is on eBay right now for less than a tenner! The original and rare misspelt Italian Issue! And a Minty one too! Why would anyone want the battered green un?
  16. Well cut my legs off and call me shorty! $640 If I'd kept it it would have been one of the best fivers I'd ever spent.
  17. Pedant - OK it was 81.... Still nearly 30 years ago (to us Northerners!) We've always had stuff before it comes out darn sarf!
  18. HQ was in New York - but had a Chicago office that did all The Impressions stuff, Chalky. Should be on the list (IMO). Sean
  19. Yep - I had the 'watching' email through a few minutes ago and nearly fell off me chair! Was a BIG Clifton Hall tune - late 70's / early 80's. Along with others at the time (there seemed to be loads of copies about) hammered it for 6 or 8 months and sold it on for no more than a tenner! Seems a crazy price... but it was nearly 30 years ago! What price will it finish at? Sean
  20. Its not his Mother he's referring to, Beeks. It's her Mother. It's his way of telling her... that he's been seeing her Mum!
  21. Agreed Adam. Triffic Book. Would have thought Boba could contribute to this thread Big Style! Don't know if these have come up yet... but they should have. VeeJay Chess Checker Cadet Alteen Mayfield Innovation ll Kwanza Tra-Mor Ja-Dan Constellation Four Brothers Bandit Twilight Twinight Lock Master Key Chi-City Chi-Town Chi-Soul Bright Star Larry O Apologies if I've duped any. It's late! Sean
  22. Annis was under severe pressure. A trade off. I supported Steve on that... and he supported me on Skip Mahoney (Running Away). And it was all a very, very, long time ago. Probably the only really Bad record I've ever played to be honest... As for High Fashion... GREAT record! (at the time :-)
  23. Come to me Simon... ... I can lead you to the promised land!
