  1. Dave Godin rave - of course - but I think it was first played out by Yorkshire's own John Britton who sold it to Soul Sam at Soul Essence - Yarmouth... and the rest is history Sean
  2. Is this tunes 'Broke' by Sam, Martin, or just played? Sean
  3. Fully agree with the sentiment of this Mike. No problem with healthy debate but the wave of offensive postings recently have spoiled the 'feelgood factor' that this site has always embodied to me. Theres enough negative crap around in the world... without having to wade through it on Soul Source. Lets please go back to havin' just a little respect around here. And for clarity - unless I'm mistaken - I reckon Mike was saying that if you don't agree with the sentiment and the penalty of post 1 on this thread, then don't post. Sean
  4. Malc is right, the Gold Mirwood one is a Boot. Backed with the Instrumental. It was a Soussan job. The Green / White Keyman is the original (more 'Northernesque') version backed with the awsome deepie "I Wonder". The Minit rework is also a great version (IMO) but the flipside is the best of the bunch with his incredible "What You Gonna Do" a superb mid to uptempo dancer... so ignore at your peril! Sean
  5. Think these will not be the same Label (series) Mikey! There was a much later Out Of The Past with a Red label but these were not from the same source (ISC). Cheers Sean
  6. Yes, one here /Big-Lis...nus#entry945018 Another one of my old Bradford Queens Hall spins, early 80's. Sean
  7. AWSUM double sider! Andy Dyson has one, here! https://www.ad45s.co.uk/soul-45s/artists/Th...ed+Five?apage=E Sean
  8. Wow! Always thought this was LP only? Sean
  9. I've had this for over 30 years. Topside is a bit of a dancer I played out in my Nighter DJ'ing days covered up, for my sins. Flipside is a lovely deepie. Rarest of the rare for sure! Sean
  10. Ah, thanks Ian, didn't realise he was a Detroiter! I used the term 'UK' to distinguish from the various other Drifters out there. He was definitely in and out of the UK derivative until very recently. Good singer. Would love to hear the track. Sean
  11. Yes Ken, I am a Twat. Thought I'd seen one on there recently. Hope you're well buddy! Sean
  12. Sorry, just checked but I cant see it. Must have gone! Ah well! Sean

  21. Hi, Exactly 12 months since we did the last 'Top Tips' thread... and therefore 24 months since the previous ... so, as it's now a Soul Source tradition, here we go again! Here's your opportunity to tip the tunes in your box for future greatness during the coming year... or simply list any number that you'd like to recommend to other Soul Sourcers. You might be a DJ with that tasty unplayed, unknown, hardly played or semi-known 45 stuck in the back of your box that you'd love to play... but haven't quite got around to it... yet! You might be a collector, sitting on a tune that you know, if it got into the right hands, could become massive in the next 12 months. It could be an LP track that, for whatever reason, has never been given the recognition it deserves. It might be a tasty 'B' side that, given the right exposure, might just have what it takes to become a monster! No need to post sound clips. Just let us know what you've got that you think deserves a plug in the coming year! So come on. Look at your box and let's have your top tip (or tips) for 2009. Oh... and a Happy (and Soulful) New Year to all! Sean Hampsey For interest, the 2007 & 2008 threads can be found here: /Top-Tips-2007-t39895.html /Top-Tip...Box-t63228.html
  22. Happy New Year to all Sourcers. Hope 2009 is your best year yet! Sean
