  1. Lacoste man myself, Fred Perry used to be great but over expensive and prone to becoming baggy when washed. Back to topic if people want to wear ns t shirts that's upto them, Jesus is there anything that isn't policed anymore. Not for me but maybe live and let live eh.
  2. Russ the angel of ns.... probably not but the devil..nah not for me. Love or hate a major contributor to the "scene, cult, movement," that is ns.
  3. Why does it bother you if people have a different opinion. Have you ever considered the reason we don't appreciate the proms is because we do appreciate ns. My last comment ,getting bored with people who can't cope with different views on a forum.
  4. I'm sure opera and country and western have musical quality.... Does that mean I can't be disappointed by listening to it, even if a select number of people who know their onions happen to like it. I stick with my original opinion thanks.
  5. A lot of people easily pleased in my opinion. I've witnessed people upset on here regarding talc, overplayed, dance styles, too much drink etc etc but are happy with ns being sanitised to a level of cringe off the scale. Glad you enjoyed it I'll settle for something different. Cheers
  6. For those who enjoyed it.. great. Is it what we were got into when we were young and stupid, I think not but each to their own.
  7. White fist is ayran power symbol... really. Always regarded white/any colour fist as more to do with communism than fascist. Sorry to go of topic
Where do I start, had a weekend in York and decided to book it when a local soul event was on. This is a hidden gem.6 hours of fantastic sounds, many we hadn't heard for years or ever. If in the York area get to this event you will not be disappointed. We will definitely get back at a later date. Superb
  8. Craig Charles isn't that bad a bloke I saw him at a funk night in Leicester. But he isn't really into ns. He always makes jokes regarding the records sounding the same but he is in the media and no doubt would comment on Morris dancing if asked. I am really confused why some members think people not liking things that they do constitutes personal attacks. I would also add far from expanding and spreading the word, these events are dowsing what little flames remain. Obviously just my opinion.
  9. With no ashes cricket at least I've got battle of the proms. More unites us than divides us some say, I not so sure about that
  10. Long shot I know but how do you know the people who didn't like the proms also didn't like the absolute pop shite. Me I'm in a little gang of my own because I didn't like the proms but liked some of the absolute pop shite.
  11. Last 4 lines says everything.
  12. Happy birthday to your mum good on her and telegram from the king I expect. Wonder how many times he done it
  13. You want hate go on my local football clubs forum and we all support the same team. Have a great day.
  14. Which is a good idea in a FORUM.
  15. Please don't regard different opinions as vitriol. It's a forum where there are often very different takes on many aspects of the given subject. certainly strong views sometimes but usually well policed by Mike and a different opinion has never bothered me, not when you think you are right.
  16. Wigan getting blamed for the BBC orchestra now
  17. There are multiple different events but among the chaff there are excellent events that most definitely are worth saving and as for the"scene" even the wording has been argued and discussed multiple times on here so I should have known better. I certainly do enjoy what I enjoy and fortunately it doesn't include tribute acts, have fun . cheers
  18. Hardly elitism for many to be protective of a scene that is fast becoming a parody of itself. As regarding the topic of tribute artists whether soul or not it's just not a lot of peoples thing, if that's blinkered it's everyones choice to like or not.
  19. Really not for me, have never ever understood tribute acts and would rather go to the dentist than see a ns tribute act, sorry.
  20. The first major trophy I saw Leicester win was the league cup in a replay at Hillsborough, the joy that night matched probably anything since. Enjoy it fella we support teams who are not going to have this feeling regular.
  21. Really weird the attitude to them, ask west ham fans their thoughts, personally was gutted when we lost to roma in the semis last year. Bit of football snobbery me thinks.
  22. Congratulations west ham, and to the soul boys and girls who follow them. Got some nice comments from you lot when we won the fa cup and wanted to return the compliment. It's a magical feeling winning silverware and doesn't come along very often for most of us.
