  2. Mr Dewhirst. Gonna buy this CD for HH to HR and on your recommendation sir! KTF Drew
  3. I need to hear HH to HR played out so...............will you play it at the Gloucester Allnighter Mike on 2nd Sept if I make it down there? KTF. Drew.
  4. Hitch Hike To Heartbreak Road. Is any one/any venue playing this fantastic tune to a dance floor at this present time (not literally at this moment on a wet Wednesday afternoon of course) ? KTF. Drew.
  5. All the very best everyone. Stay safe and enjoy. KTF. Drew.
  6. Thanks for the replies chaps. Nev. I agree with you about the track being an absolute belter by Marvin Gaye and I cannot believe Motown (I'm assuming it would have been that company) never put it up for release!!! KTF. Drew.
  7. ...............do the terms actually mean? Indeed are they the same? I am taking them to mean that the records were never actually sent out/distributed to shops/outlets by the record company. Therefore, a record such as My Love For You by Marvin Gaye is described by Nev when he posted it in Refosoul as Unreleased. Does that mean that he got hold of a copy that was never sold by a record shop as it were? Would a DJ copy that never went into shops be unissued/unreleased or is the term only used to describe songs that are from some sort of master tape that languished for years in vaults of Record Companies? Bored Saturday afternoon sort of question. KTF. Drew.
  8. I take it then Kev that there is no November date already set as it was (is) running as a monthly do is it not? Only been once earlier this year and would like to go again but cannot go this Sat. Hopefully it will survive. KTF Drew.
  9. Is there to be a 100 Club niter between now and Christmas whatever happens to the club in the longterm? KTF. Drew.
  10. Manchester Cornerhouse added today. Friday 10th to Thursday 16th Sept. KTF. Drew.
  11. Sorry to start another thread on this but I haven't got time to trawl other threads to see if my question can be answered there. The Soulboy official site has a number of limited venues around the country starting tonight and the nearest for me is Wigan which is not that easy to get to from where I live and I can only go next Wednesday evening (the film is only on in Wigan until 9th Sept). The site says look out for other venues to be added but I don't want to miss it at Wigan if say Manchester is not going to be added later. Does anyone know for certain if other towns/cities will be added or does anyone know how I can ask the production company this question as the site does not seem to have a 'contact us' button? Thanks in advance. KTF. Drew.
  12. Is this the same Peggy March who sang If You Loved Me? KTF. Drew.
  13. Drowning my sorrows after United's loss so this is one of my late night wine induced posts. Once again I've simply been browsing Refosoul and just listened to a belter. I thought I'd heard most of Smokey Robinson & The Miracles' best tunes but I had never heard "Special Occasion". Fantastic!!!! Thanks 45celler for putting the tune up. Motown at the root of what we love once again. And just how good is this site for hearing something new (even if it is 40 odd years old)!!!! Always learning. KTF. Drew.
  14. I've said it several times on here before, Kentucky Rain is very much a soulful record as far as I'm concerned. Anyone able to post up a Youtube Clip. There are several on Youtube but I don't know how to do it. If some kind person would post one up the simple recording of the song (with stills of Elvis) is the clearest as opposed to the 'live' footage ones. KTF. Drew.
  15. Thanks Mick. It's not in Refosoul as far as I can tell. Anyone able to post it up? Not great vocals and obviously a very young girl singing (Brian M said that she was only 12 yrs old!!) but the tune behind the vocals was pretty good IMHO. KTF. Drew.
  16. Debbie Doval (not sure of the spelling of the surname). Can't remember the song's title either. Anyone able to post it up? Cheers. KTF. Drew.
  17. Absolutely F**king awful!!!!!!!! KTF. Drew.
  18. One of the first tunes to really hit me as a kid Stevie. Went with my mother to a local boys/mens outfitters to buy my first Crombie and picked up the album Otis Sings The Blues from a box by the door!!!. I had already started to listen to Motown but this blew me away when I got it home. I think I still have the album in the garage; mainly blue cover with the face of a white model!!! Typical!!! KTF. Drew.
  19. Thanks folks. KTF. Drew.
  20. How do I get to hear this now that the Youtube stream has been removed? KTF. Drew.
  21. ........ Bill Oddie mentioned in the same sentence on Sounds of the Sixties this morning. Apparently the record played was a favourite in soul clubs in the 60's according to our Brian. The record was pretty average in my opinion sounding very much like a Gene Pitney track. Anyone got the record (I can't remeber what it was called) and more to the point has anyone on here ever heard it played anywhere? KTF. Drew.
  22. My apologies for being a bit thick Pete but how do I get to listen? I've clicked on the links in two of the posts and all that comes up is a box saying "Invalid address"!!!! KTF. Drew.
  23. It's probably seen in some quarters (my own on occasions) as an 'overplayed oldie', but Timi Yuro's It'll Never Be Over For Me is my 'falling in love with that tune again' of late. I'm a bit of a ballad fan and when listened to this tune ticks all of the boxes for me; fantastic vocals, superb lyrics and music and arrangement to die for; and it has historical mileage on the scene. So, any others fitting this bill that are 'floating your boat' at present? KTF. Drew.
  24. ...............are actually B sides. Not being a collector or DJ I would have no real idea. I'm anticipating some surprises here. KTF. Drew.
  25. Someone told me that you're only 12. KTF. Drew.
