  6. Just a thought, it’d been easier to get a train and collect in person. bloody PayPal!
  7. Peanuts , literally!!! Mr m&m man , course it’s been played here and there , but I’m sure the more northern type venues would’ve picked up on these types if they wasn’t on the god forbid CD ps it’s not brand new modern modern lol
  8. Yep couldn’t agree more , how people deprive themselves just because they came out on cd in their original format, I might add . I thought back in the day when some venues did plug in the CD player that the scene would have progressed onto this being the norm , it’s seems the thread got dropped along the way , there’s loads of great titles and they are peanuts and some of them can or are quite rare to get hold off .
  9. Afternoon of the rhino amongst many others
  10. Always loved this by Rance Allen, ‘ miracle worker ‘ terrific live performance!
  11. “My iron in the fire had an iron in the fire” ”some dude had bust a hole in my spare tyre” Don Covay ‘ somebody’s been enjoying my home ‘ And with the luxury of Philip Mitchell on back up vocals ad libbing !
  12. Maybe the best thing for the group/record co would be not to say how many copies are to be pressed .
  13. The group would be shaking their heads in disbelief to see all this bollox about one or the other being the original. Just enjoy the music for once, however you buy it. Yes just imagine how they’d feel after the effort and struggle to get a release and then read such a debate ! They need every leg up they can , not this shyte.
  14. Lou Johnson’s version is sublime!
  15. Agree on keele I hated it , looking back yes it was probably the sign of the storm brewing, I loved the Wilton , Bradford etc all nighters. For me it was places like pitches/Phoenix that evoke great memories.
  16. Sure wish I’d cottoned onto it earlier that’s for sure!
  17. I don’t think I got onto the net till about 99! Lol
  18. Totally agree , best times for me too , and yes you’re right on the money about the music ‘matured’ and the discerning Djs imo
  19. Just slightly going off topic but sticking with Curtis , I read the biography on him by his son or his nephew? I forget, but the bit about when he did one of his very first gigs and the promoter a known gangster/shyster was notorious for not paying and Curtis still a teenager confronted him , to which the guy pulled a pistol put it to his face and said “how bad do you want the money “ to which he replied “ bad enough for you to pull that trigger” if true how fucking cool is that
  20. Amen ? ( lol)
  21. And I know what you mean too Steve , Andrew
  22. Maybe the OVO Should be changed to LVO ‘ legit vinyl only’ maybe that’ll help end this tedious monotony .
  23. Heard a lot worse, a lot worse !
  24. Joey, We did some work on Hirsts’ art teachers house who told him he was f#cking useless and still stood by that to his dying day
