  1. The whole lp ! It’s a masterpiece, “3 strikes on me “ is incredible deep soul , “this is my prayer” superb mid tempo crossover and a superior take than the 45 too ( 45 lacks the backing singers if I recall right )
  2. The whole lp ! It’s a masterpiece, “3 strikes on me “ is incredible deep soul , “this is my prayer” superb mid tempo crossover and a superior take than the 45 too ( 45 lacks the backing singers if I recall right ) I don’t think there’s a lp version of prayer on you tube
  3. Yes ,£660 26years ago was a colossal amount, sold mine for about 300 if memory serves me right in 2006 !and I thought I did great! Mind you somebody paid 640 for the ultimates on br roma a few year before that on jm auction

  5. The demise of the ‘pub scene ‘ as had its input too , boozers and losers have used the northern scene for a long time now .
  6. Just treated myself to this yacht , never sailed before but went out with the owner who showed me the ropes ( no pun intended) and I’m quietly confident I’ll master it .

  8. Think you mean Wilson ?
  9. On my allotment we have hedgehogs about, so I’ve been told to avoid harming them instead of using slug pellets to use porridge flakes as the slugs eat porridge flakes and kills them but then is harmless to hedgehogs if they’re hungry enough for slugs being on their menu , just putting it out there as any garden lovers on here could try it too .
  10. To be fair I’ve absolutely nothing against jm in fact I sold a collection to him . My post was really just about the ultimates 45 and the buyers
  11. The one I’m going to find interesting is the ultimates , at least 15 years ago jm sold a copy on auction for £640 ish , I was staggered as I’d paid about 20 some years before but can’t remember exact year and thought at the time of auction it’d make maybe 60! My thought is , who paid all that all them years ago and what must they be thinking about the colossal amount they paid back then , where are these people from ? They must be very private as if it was a mate of mine I’d know or do they keep it to themselves what they’ve bought and more so the amount they’ve blown and do they have a secret room they keep them in so nobody knows and play them to themselves.
  12. Yes whatever his problems he retained the passion . R.I.P Dave
  13. It’s become worse with the advent of E bikes , I was on my local moor and two Billy Bunters on e bikes were coming up the hill gassing away , not even pedalling ffs It was a bit of a problem but got bigger with these sort of ‘cyclist ‘ they’ll even get home and put it on Strava lol , so they’ve shut it to cyclist , which I think they’ve done right and I go cyclocross and road biking .

  20. Amen to every word you say regarding cds , I also don’t like them but as you say the tracks that have been overlooked is a pretty sad affair when you consider the Calibre of artist that were still recording quality songs and still had great vocal prowess that were ignored is a loss to the scene , I started a thread ‘cd only tracks that you love ‘ to see if others felt the same , I was talking original cd recordings not ‘unissued releases ‘ .
  21. Great album ,great track .
