  1. Brilliant and just shows that R Dean Taylor wasn't just a Country song writer.
  2. A lovely guy, a good laugh & a friend we'll all miss, thinking of his family at this sad time. RIP Joe. Spot & Gail.
  3. Gave my Demo to Ronnie Pedley as a 21st Birthday present in about 1975, a great record that's been hammered but I still love it. Spot.
  4. Yes you greedy sod, share and share alike,ok!!!! Steve, seems it's Math's for us old timers but Math if you down with your own good self and the kids.
  5. You forgot RW can't read, so it never happened!!!!!!!!!!! DS were always there I remember being tugged in the lower car park and knew people who never made it to the Casino but did make it to the local Police Station. Seems RW is reinventing history again, just like himself from a Mobile Pro Rock DJ to E.Rodney Jones of the scene. Spot. btw. It was half the fun dodging the DS, unless you got caught.
  6. Great singer & man, "When a man" has been a part of all our life's growing up, an iconic tune.R.I.P. Percy.
  7. Agree a great little snippet, brought a tear to my eye talking about Florence Ballad.
  8. Your right Phil, it sounds as good now as back in the 70's, was massive at Cleethorpes along with Bobby Franklin, both Skullsnaps and more. Spot.
  9. Try Samuel Windsor.
  10. I noticed that as well, since the abolition of smoking in venues ashtrays have vanished from the table, so the flyers are now the wrapping of unwanted gum. Spot.
  11. I remember it well Steve, a nice list & the best version of Salvation, always nice to bump into you, Septembers not that far away. Spot.
  12. Blooming heck Dave, a nice long list of floor fillers & shakers, well done that man.
  13. No Neil he was from Donny, Google him (Interesting reading), he was a man of the people it appears. I remember him doing the Attic and we can remember him Dj'ing at Top Rank on a Saturday Afternoon when we were spotty youths. Gail was looking on the Inter Web at Goole, The Beatles got nicked here & George Harrison had to return to Court, Ike & Tina Turner played the Paradise Club, Gogger the Drifters eventually played the Vikings as did The Elgins, R. Dean Taylor,The Bay City Rollers, Detroit Spinners, Detroit Emeralds & many I've no doubt forgotten. Spot.
  14. Top tunes & your own hair, what more could a chap want? Buggar. Bob slways a pleasure.
  15. Gogger if it was anything to do with Ray Nortrop then the acts were often cancelled, he promised the 3 Degrees on numerous occasion's and I mean numerous, we always ended up with Limmie & family Cookin or Real Thing, I saw RT over a dozen times. Spot.
  16. No myth Martyn, he did appear but not at one of the infamous alldayers, it was a special Ray Nortrop presents Saturday night, no doubt he was appearing somewhere else for Ray nearby, I remember it well, what a night, a Northern Legend appearing in little old Goole. The Vikings had many acts appear there; Johnny Wilder & the Chicago Heatwave, Real Thing, Doris Troy, Mac & Katie Kissoon, Roy C, Limmie & Family Cooking and more. In 2009 in Chicago I met Majors Daughter and even had a dance with her, just gotta meet the other 8 kids now. Spot.
  17. Good luck Richard, this is one people don't like parting with and it's pricey at 4 figures but what a tune, watch out for "2nd Issue" with Black lettering & styrene not vinyl. Spot.
  18. spot

    me dancing at wigan

    You said it Graham!!!!!!
  19. So which one of the four is your excuse then Kev?? Only joking mate, you don't need an excuse!!
  20. Yes Len as long as they were Top 200 NS Oldies, so lets not give them any credit, as Ricky Tomlinson would say, "Baggie trousers, my ar*e!!!" Spot. p.s. Remember Len, records maketh the Man, not the other way around.
  21. Mick, Rob would would empty the floor to to show he can if he feels that way out, I've seen him do it many time, it's the only thing that makes him happy some night and yes he has some fabulous records. Spot.
  22. Yes Matt seen that on more than one occasion, that really endears them to the people wanting to dance, the one I remember vividly did it twice (Second 1 was about the gear) needless to say he got very few spot's after that and vanished up his own ar*e, having said that he is not missed at all. I love listening to new stuff and old and the Dj should remember he's there to entertain and not educate, as Busted said, "It's what I go to school for", no reference to your occupation Matt. Spot.
  23. Come on Len, with Butch's box? You are joking aren't you? btw Len I get your point about "Covering the same ground" but that's our small band of open minded Soulies, try explaining to the Oldies crew that it gets boring, it'll fall on deaf ears.
  24. Now,now Phil behave.
