Agree with all the comments about this pathetic woman & with Lorraine was gunna e-mail her & tear her a new r sole but on reflection I think it's not wise, we could end up with a re-run of 70's when every "Jurno" & every trend concious youth in Britain thought it "Cool" to go to Wigan Casino & remember they soon disappeared & it almost finished the scene (for me anyway). We're a happy family, most of the time, so let her carry on in her ignorance & we'll carry on enjoying. By the way I alway thought that Northern soul beget the Rave culture ? So she should be grateful for the legacy & be kissing our collective arses not ridiculing or kicking them. Just a thought, Take care & be safe, Spot.

Guy`s I use to collect a bit in early 70's right through to 1981 when I sold my 50 box to buy my first house when I got married. I didn`t actually discover any sounds but dealt with the usual villians & a guy in Dade County & one in California, can't remember where exact. Anyway first time I dealt with guy in California he asked could I get him a certain "Frank Ifield" LP, which I got for £1, he then sent me a mixed box with about 120 45's in that he valued at $20. Couldn't believe my luck as I went through box & found 2 copies "Lyn Vernado - Wash & wear love", 5 copies "Montclairs - Hung up on your love", 4 "Maurice Williams - Being without you", some other bits I can't remember but worth a few quid & finally the second known copy at the time of, "Danny Monday - Baby without you", which I dare not take out & nobody would believe I had it until I took it too Cleethorpes & did swaps with Soul Sam for it. Not a bad days work!! The guy in Dade use to send us 10 copies at a time for 50 cents each, "Carstairs - It really hurts me" which was massive & also 10 copies at a time for 10 cents each "Elouise Laws - Love Factory". Can`t afford to collect now as it's just to expensive & I become obsessed. Seems a bit far fetched but can be checked with many, many people. Spot.

Bjorn that was a "tongue in cheek" reply to Mandy, you know good old British humour m8. But to be honest a large percentage of top dancers from that bygone era of the 70`s did have over inflated ego`s & thought the floor was theirs by rights, I know I was there to witness it. You must think your a bit good on the old Maple matting to offer such a reply!!!!! (Joking, British humour again, no offence mean`t or intended ) Most people nowadays who are my age are just happy they can shake a leg still, me included. Take care & be safe, Spot.

No chance of getting all those male top dancers in one room Mand, one you`d never get the heads through a normal size door also can you imagine the preening & posturing it would be ages before a single step was attempted & finally there`d be that much Testosterone in the room it would bleeding well implode!!! just doesn`t bear thinking about. BET IT`S GREAT TEACHING KIDS GYMNASTICS BUT TRAMPOLINING NO, ONLY BECAUSE THEY WOULDN`T BE ABLE TO GET ME OFF IT. WE`RE ALL JUST BIG KIDS AT HEART. TAKE CARE & BE SAFE (ON THAT TRAMPOLINE) SPOT.

Got to agree with the comments earlier, "acrobatics ain`t dancing" thats what gymnastics competions are for & neither is constant spinning it does my head in watching people limbering up to spin every 20 seconds or so , enough said me thinks.Foot work & variety for me every time, Wigan wonder moves never did it for me (even though we were regulars) I was more of a Cleethorpes seaside shuffler & prior to that trod the light fantastic in Hull along with Rick Poskitt. For me today there are no truly outstanding dancers but there are some very good one. In the Blue Corner for the gents I give you, in no particular order; Dave Bacon, Mickey from Sheffield & ANDY CANNON, I know he does floor work but he gets my vote with his nifty footwork. In the Pink Corner (excluding my wife who is the best shuffle style dancer I`ve ever seen & shall remain nameless unless I wish to die) representing the ladies I give you; Chrissie from Donny,Kate from Hull & finally Sam Evans, I know she does cartwheels & will have someones eye out one day with those winklepicker style shoes but she to has excellent footwork. Now harping back to the old days when I could hold my own with most & spin when needed there were two guys who were dance icons to me; FRANK BOPPER from Derby? & ERIC SMITH from Leeds also the black guy (not the spinning top) in the Wigan Casino footage in the "My England" video piece, sorry I don`t know his name? Now they had footwork. I can honestly say I have no recollections of any brilliant female dancers from that era, but bear in mind it is 30+ ago & the old grey matter ain`t what it use to be. But as the man said earlier "Does it really matter? Dancing is just an expression of the joy & love you have for the music", or words to that effect. Me thinks if your a good dancer it does though, it`s an ego thing. Take care & be safe, Spot.
