I was not aware of this error till Saturday via a support request from George Falzon. so the event was removed for 4 days

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

In my humble opinion. George stepped up to try and help out whilst I was recovering from Major heart surgery. At a time when I had no data coverage in Blackpool Victoria. As an administrator of a site. You should guide and assist. Not delete. You cost us a large downfall in numbers. It can't be changed. 

How you act can be.

Saturday we are back. Bringing Peter Higson Former Accrington Legion DJ.  Those fabled Friday nights. Where the music became legendary. 

Also as guest. Kev Murphy you just know your in for a treat.

Full weekend must be in excess of 3k given 2k+ was raised a Todmorden Cricket Club. 

I'm intrigued so can you post the results  

I arrived around 17.30. Doors were locked. I managed to entre via rear doors. I get easily confused. Greeted by Chris. Said I was to early and a number were at The Swan. So trudged off and went for pint. Caught up with a pal of my mate Simo. Sharing stories, as you do. Anyway the clock struck 6 and exudes. We were entertained in the modern/upfront room till 8. It's not my bag. However I enjoyed it. . 

We went upstairs. I caught up with the Lancaster lads and Wayne and Wally. Thanks lads for looking after me. I had to leave at 2'ish. Hit the wall. But the music. Holly Molly, quite simply stupendous. No repeats. The DJs we all in the room paying attention. The floor was rammed the whole night. The atmosphere electric and appreciative. The Sound System superb. I managed to get home around 5. That's the longest I've been out for a long time. Entertained and educated beyond scope. My English isn't good enough to explain all the superlatives of this event. 

Further. I don't think one DJ stood out over the others. Quality was that good . 

However Guy did play a Velvettes track 

Let Love Live A Little Bit longer. Unissued Acertate I believe. Stunning.

Our little Club in Accrington is based on this music. We will continue and hopefully some of this crowd discovers our music.

Unfortunately due to a heart problem Brian has informed us that he cannot attend as planned for this event. Combined with cancer treatment ongoing regarding Pat Billingham Denis also has had to pull out. 

So we rebuilt the night. Bringing in a rite Lancashire Charlie in Gamekeeper Jones perfect foil for Eddie Wainwright and also Tony Poff, who was delighted to be invited.
