    Grimsagh Village Hall

    Another Late Summer Northern Soul Special. Main Hall The Battle of The Roses . Lancashire v Yorkshire. We can confirm that the Backroom will also be open and ( Dolly ) KathleenOconnell & Gamekeeper Jones will be providing alternative Underplayed Chill out Room. Dolly & Neil have acquired Jimmy Cowburn who will be guest DJ in the Dolly Room. This is only one of 2 Room Event in East Lancashire. Resident DJs Kevin MaCaffrey ( Lancashire ) George Falzon ( Yorkshire ) Dave Hutch ( warm up ) Our Guests Alan Gibson ( Lancashire ) From the highly acclaimed and very popular Preston BAC/EE Club. Our Yorkshire Guest David Ingham Bradford Ukrainian Club. This is a Bring Your Own Drinks Event. Local Premier Store stays open later than usual to supply thirsty dancers. We have Kitchen facilities where Tea and Coffee plus Soft drinks are available for car drivers. FREE Tap Water is available A large and relaxing Beer Garden with beautiful views available for smokers and those wishing to cool off from the dancing. Large Secure Car Park available two Rooms of Soul. Relaxed atmosphere which Bring your own Drinks seems to provide. See ye at the Go-Go

    Once in a while a hidden gem is found. This is one such place. The acoustic sound was magnificent. Pitch tone perfection. Bring your own drinks was a huge success. Smiling faces, stress free. No one walking across the dancefloor with drinks. The Preston lads certainly seemed to enjoy it. Very large carpark was only a third full. A good first turnout of 50 is a working figure. We hope those numbers will increase now it's been seen and sampled. Fabulous sets by George Falzon, followed by Chris Barr not done much in the way of Guest spots. Chris was superb. Dsve Lowe, when we booked. Was told be Dave Lowe. He didn't disappointed. What a set. Kevin McCaffrey played another hour of nostalgic Northern Soul. George closed the night. Thanks to Alison Todd and Vicky Wright Cornwell for sorting the kitchen ablutions for Tea Coffee and chilled soft drinks. Some of the drivers enjoyed. So free water dancers dream. Relaxed Beer Garden for Socialising and those wishing to smoke. Plentiful free parking Great Music and Problem free Sound System. You just have to pay a visit. September 30 next Event.   9. Top of The Stairs. Sydney Street Social Club Accrington BB5 6EG Sprung Wooden Dancefloor Pitch-tone perfect Sound System. Cheap bar prices. Free Tap Water for dancers who require it. It's dark it's hot and sweaty proper old school Soul Night. Excellent reviews from many who attend. Perfect Northern Soul Venue untouched un tampered with. A throwback in time. This Month we welcome from Stockport Peter Bailey aka PIP for those on the Scene who know him and few who don't. Great cross selection from Mr Mrs Wigan Twisted Wheel The Torch and Tony's Empress.     Wow what a night. Great feedback from a varied selection of folk from locations across Lancashire and beyond. Our Top Guest Hammie played a blinding set. Quality We looked after him. Housed overnight en-suite after a 6 hrs journey. Was just what they needed. We take good care of the guests. 95% of seats were taken. It was a hot sweaty and very Soulful evening. When folk want to stay and talk about it. After the last record. Think it says a thing about the Event. For those who don't know. An upstairs old School dark and very Soulful. Sounds stem purring at around 80db. Just the ticket. Kenny Parkinson set us underway with George Falzon playing some stunning moder/crossover tracks. Clitheroe Soul Club Neil Grainger played some great Classics with few R&B mixed got the floor moving. Mick Sikora from Rochdale carried on with uptempo brew. The Hammie. Who didn't disapoint. Evening to the close was Kevin McCaffrey an Accrington Legend. Who back in the day. Was asked to take records to the very first Wigan Casino. Also sold many discoveries to Richard Serling. A fine night. Next up Friday September 1st. If you like Old School Venues. This is for you. If your a dancer. Bring a change of tops. It gets warm. Free tap water behind the bar. For those who need it.

Once again we will be offering Bring your own drinks Vicky Wright Cornwell has kindly offered to man the kitchen. Where tea and coffee will be available. Entry is £5. Spar shop for traveling Soul folk just off Junction 31A. With various in the location Preston Longridge Road and in Longridge and Inglewhite depending which routes you take. If needing a watering hole. Back to the music Resident DJs Kevin McCaffrey Kenny Parkinson George Falzon make up the Music for the night. Venue has a very large Carpark and large Beer Garden with a chill out room .
