  1. Tell you what, whomever wins it, can I have first refusal on either of your issues?
  2. Thanks for the encouraging words John. Now, has anybody got a copy for sale? Nick at Intoxica? Not seen you down the 'cellar' Wednesday nights lately? Or is that 'cos I ain't been for a while? Danny at Reddingtons? Anybody!!!
  3. Actually, based on the fact that this label has had about 14 releases, then I would say that the rarest UK label must be Solid Sender, which only had two releases, to my knowledge, both being 6 track extended plays. The label was released by the Warrington Blues Society based in Warrington, of which I was a member. Can anybody come up with something even rarer?
  4. So this is Piers's label. Well, what do you know. Small world eh? How is Piers by the way? He had to miss the Austin Record Fair due to a heart by-pass operation I believe. Hope he's okay and fully recovered?
  5. Yep, that looks a bit like mine. Perhaps not the same record though? I'll scan it and post it up at the weekend.
  6. I've got another release on that label and it's a darkish bluey grey in colour. Stonkin Mint condition as well. Funny, I only had it in my hands the other day thinking, where the hell did I get this? Can't remember who it was by but it had to be half way decent, otherwise I wouldn't have but it, I guess. Can update you at the weekend if nothing else turns up about this label.
  7. Will wait to see what you get for yours before digging out mine. Seeya tonight Ezz.
  8. Saddened to hear that. I have fond memories of hearing her records down at the Wheel and the excitement of adding them to my growing collection. I shall dig them out and play them now, in respect. RIP Viola Wills.
  9. Please PM me if you have a scan of this record. Please PM me if you have a sound file of this record.
  10. Please PM me if you have a copy for sale.
  11. Yeah, I'm sure I've seen them. In fact, I might have one or two myself but am not at home just now. If you don't get a more positive answer by the weekend, I'll dig mine out and scan it for you.
  12. Beautiful track. I'll take any spares that might come up after Chalky's sorted. JM born same day and month as me but 11 years earlier. Don't know why I mentioned that. I guess we all like to know soulful links to our birth dates, etc?
  13. Which scene? New Breed R&B? Nah. Northern? Nah. Funk? Then yes, not bad, quite James Brownish.
  14. Yeah, watched it myself, thought it was brilliant. Watched Jools as well for an hour with some crackin' artists, including Taj Mahal, and some guy called Seasick Steve I think? Bloody brilliant 3 string guitar work.
  15. Other than it was released in 1964 and books at about £25 in MINT condition. No. Anybody got a sound file of this one? And a nice scan? Cheers me dears.
  16. Well, that was fantastic. Thanks for posting.
  17. Was wondering how and why you managed to get bookings arranged for this one. Didn't realise myself that this one was going to be a Roger Eagle tribute night. Must pick up more flyers in future. After our chat the other night, I wasn't expecting you back up until about July.
  18. Not entirely sure about that. Many DJs turn over their 'collections' in order to afford their latest 'finds' / 'discoveries'. You can't blame them for that 'cos it's too expensive otherwise to keep everything they've ever bought plus pay the price for those new discoveries. Now, 'collectors' tend to hoard records, never selling anything unless they find a better condition copy or a spare. They too go to great lengths to discover newies for their scene but only get the occasional chance to air them whenever they are asked to Guest DJ. Now there's another breed. These are the guys that can introduce some interesting stuff, given the chance.
  19. Hope you have better luck than me getting a reply via PM.
  20. That'll be UK Brunswick not UK Decca.
  21. Thanks. I wasn't doubting it was released as a 45 but am asking the question, was it ever pressed / booted? And if so, can somebody with first hand knowledge confirm or deny this, then if possible, try to get a scan of the pressing, if it exists. And better still, show a pressing / boot next to a scan of the original for direct comparison. Did that make sense? Can anybody help?
  22. You just fill in the blank with your email address, right? Hope so 'cos that's what I've done.
  23. Nice one Kav!!!
  24. Thank you SO much for sharing that with us, I really mean that. Brilliant!!!
  25. I listened to the start for about 15 to 20 seconds and got bored but there did seem to be a slight difference then I started thinking perhaps I'm imagining it so that's when I decided to post the question on here. Hopefully, somebody else with a more discerning ear, can confirm or deny the rumours? Anyhow, howzit hangin' Kev?
