  1. Bloody hell, you could do with a guy like that these days. Mention record one day, next day he has one for you. That's a collectors dream. Carl Dene? Is he still knocking about on the scene? Is he the British collector who also collected antiques?
  2. Was that Alan Day?
  3. Cheers for that Mick, I have been communicating with bob this afternoon, so an update on what you've written could result in the following list of owners of the Billy Harner instrumental; 1. Denbo. 2. Mick Smith. 3. Richard Searling. 4. Steve Glover (possibly). 5. Ian Ainsley (possibly). 6. The copy Ian Clark sold a few years ago. 7. The Wolverhampton copy. Unless it is one of the above. I wonder if anybody else could expand / confirm / deny on the above list?
  4. Aaahh, there's my answer. No need for the PM now.
  5. Is that a UK release? Never heard of it before now. Any chance of sending a PM with a sound file and / or a scan? Appreciate it if you could.
  6. I was in two minds whether or not to add that 'e'. Yeah, sure, please email him, I'm always interested in details. If I was at home I could have verified my suspicions by checking out reference books and searching through my own records to see if I've got it, which I think I do.
  7. Someone in a later posting seems to think so. At least, they've listed it as a contender to the intention of this thread.
  8. Kev Does this mean YOU'VE got it? If so, could you please PM me a scan? Cheers.
  9. Right, who did you blame?
  10. Regarding the Ila Vann, was the label Pathway? Or something like that?
  11. Hi bob, My understanding, from Richard himself, but donkies years ago so it's a bit hazey, is that whilst unloading his record boxes from the boot of his car, he left one box on the floor by mistake then proceeded to reverse over it. Apparantly, the only record damaged in the whole box was the Billy Harner. Is this correct / true? As for the history of the 45 before Richard ended up with it, I'd be very interested. Please PM me.
  12. Come to think of it, you're right, I've never seen an issue of the Amazing Dancing Band. Lp yes, 45 no.

    I'll take the Puppy Love
  14. Huh, don't know that Applejacks? Gotta sound file? I've got other Applejacks records but I don't think that's amongst them? Cinderellas. Nice one. What about Joe Dutton on the Action stuff? I like the organised look about your record room.

Hi Folks, Well, I've managed to track down a Demo copy of 'Ferry Cross The Mersey' thanks to Pete. So, it's just the above titled Want that I'm still after. Must be a Demo and must be at least in Excellent condition. No dart holes or the like from copies previously owned by Utd fans please. Keep yer peepers peeled for me, yeah?
  16. May not be in the limelight much Jim but take it from me, it was one of the best Clubs around at the time, along with the Catacombs and the like. I hope somebody comes up with the goods for you, I'd be interested too.
  17. Yes, I think you're correct. Regarding the Inspirations that is.
  18. Yeah, I got my stocker of Bok To Bach about that time too, for a similar price. As you say, 'cos it got booted no doubt. Gotta sound file you could PM me of that Jox 45 John? NEVER heard of that in my life. Mind you, does it count as a Holy Grail record? Or, just a dammed rare record?
  19. Could you be more specific. Yeah, but there's no smell involved in playing the SJC.
  20. So so. Yes and no. There are times when I like it and others when I think it's pretty average. Having said that, it sounds brilliant out on a big sound system. It's a VERY rare record, as it was only released, as far as I know, here in the UK and only as a 45. So, from a collectors point of view then yes, I like it. But musically it's not that great. I've spent years trying to add it to my collection. Partly due to the fact that a certain person, who promised it to me, donkies years ago, perhaps around 1974, let me down at the last second and said no, I'm keeping it. I think after that, I had to have it, if you know what I mean. So, how about you?
  21. Aahaa, you DID understand my last posting. Wasn't sure I did myself, had to read it over a few times to make sure it made sense. So, thanks for the update . . . . . . . and the CD!!!
  22. Does that mean you don't like the Soul Joe Clements record either?
  23. Not a bad record that. Must admit to never having heard it before. Indeed never even knew it existed until I accidentally spotted it on Manship's Auction. Let me know if you get another Pete. But at your sensible prices and not the silly figures Manship's Auctions seem to attarct. In fact, do me a favour, any others on English like that that you think I might be interested in, please run them by me, preferably with a sound file. Always interested in my English as you well know. Cheers mukka.
  24. He He, well said Pete. Have N E V E R understood why anybody likes this record!!!
