  1. So, that confirms what I said in my summary. It's the inclusion versus the absence of the word 'My' that determines it's rarity / value. The word 'Dearly' only seems to appear on the re-issue / boot. Thanks Mick. But I can't agree with you that the backing singers sing 'Dearly Beloved'.
  2. Nice one Rod. Clear as mudd. Or is that mud? "However I would point out that you've mis-spelt both "miss-spelt" and miss-titled", " Thought I had. Sorry about that Rod.
  3. Yep, like I said, rubber stamped 'A' anywhere BUT centre. Nice one Seb.
  4. You've confused me even more now Rod. What do you mean? As far as I can tell, the record should be titled 'Dear Beloved', because that sounds like what he's singing. The record is actually titled 'My Dear Beloved'. So, should we be talking about this record being mis-titled as opposed to mis-spelled? In fact, where, if anywhere, does the word 'Dearly' enter into the title, apart from the so-called re-issue / boot copy. I see the UK release on Soul City has it as 'My Dear Beloved'. So, the difference then, is literally the inclusion or the absence of the word 'My' in the title. I'm going to guess it should be titled 'Dear Beloved' and that the mis-titled 'My Dear Beloved' is the rarer of the two and therefore fetches a bigger price. All depending on condition of course. Am I right. Or have I got it arse about face?
  5. Jack Montgomery - My Dear Beloved c/w Do You Believe It - Scepter Yes, the seldom seen mis-titled - MY DEAR BELOVED - for those of you who seek the Rarest-Form of the true Northern Soul classics. A red stock copy of - DEARLY BELOVED - spelled wrong is far-out way of owning this incomparable Detroit double-sider. This is the description on John Manship's auction for the above titled record. If you look at the title on the scan of the actual record, it reads 'My Dear Beloved'. When you listen to the lyrics he clearly sings 'Dear Beloved'. So, my confusion is this. Where is the incorrect spelling???
  6. Sylvie Vartan recording?
  7. So, I take it that one has the 'A' stamped in the middle? I've got Betty Everett's - I've Got A Claim On You. And it's for sale. Any takers? PM me with best offer. From memory, it's in Ex- condition.
  8. Have only ever seen about two or three and they have always been anywhere but the centre. Guess they weren't very accurate with their stamping.
  9. UK Sue Demos, believe it or not, are stock copies, rubber stamped with a black letter A about 1" in height.
  10. Cheers Brownie. That's a relief. Thought I'd sold an original Canadian Demo for £5 some years ago, thinking it was a boot. This scan proves to me that I DID sell a boot, as it looked exactly like this scan and NOT the Canadian Demo. Feel much better now.
  11. Thanks for the feedback / info. Is that the one and only UK released label on the whole of your 'Rarest Of The Rare' section???
  12. I was aware of how the label looked, in as much as it was a black and white one. Was hoping for a scan really, to see the label design. Thanks anyway. Can somebody else help?
  13. MAGIC!!! Thanks John. Crackin' stomper. Can't remember now but did we ever get to see a scan of the proper Jox label? Or are we only ever gonna see this label-less version? PS - Is that the one and only UK released label on the whole of your 'Rarest Of The Rare' section???
  14. Can somebody please help?
  15. Could you post up or PM me a scan of it please?
  16. And here's me thinking this was going to be a BLACK issue?
  17. Aah, that's more like it. So, you think you saw one on eBay a while back? UK issue. Or was it a Demo? Pity you didn't keep a copy of the scan. Now, does it actually exist? Was it ever released? Or, if it does exist at all, is it just as a Demo, or a test pressing? If anybody has got a scan of it, please post it up. Ta.
  18. Hey Bearsy, Howzit goin'? Less of the cheek and go find me a copy. Seeings how there's no Liverpool fans down here and you all hate Liverpool, there should be copies of this in abundance. Problem is, it MUST be a Columbia Demo in excellent condition. Keep yer peepers peeled and I'll palm your hands with the reddies. Assuming cash off a Scouser is good enough for ye?
  19. Hi Tom, You SURE about the Dee Dee Sharp - A Most Unusual Boy. Wasn't that the Shirelles? Or, did you mean Dee Dee Sharp - He's No Ordinary Guy b/w Never Pick A Pretty Boy? Denbo.
  20. Aaaah, the man from Chester? Yes? I'm REALLY after this Demo but I love winding the Utd fans up every time I post it up. Denbo.
  21. Bloody hell, you could do with a guy like that these days. Mention record one day, next day he has one for you. That's a collectors dream. Carl Dene? Is he still knocking about on the scene? Is he the British collector who also collected antiques?
  22. Cheers for that Mick, I have been communicating with bob this afternoon, so an update on what you've written could result in the following list of owners of the Billy Harner instrumental; 1. Denbo. 2. Mick Smith. 3. Richard Searling. 4. Steve Glover (possibly). 5. Ian Ainsley (possibly). 6. The copy Ian Clark sold a few years ago. 7. The Wolverhampton copy. Unless it is one of the above. I wonder if anybody else could expand / confirm / deny on the above list?
  23. Aaahh, there's my answer. No need for the PM now.
