That's cheap!!!

I have this 45 that looks pretty bad but plays great BUT it has a small 5mm long by 3mm deep chip out of the outside edge of the record and I am looking for the best way to fill in this gap with something that can be applied whilst still pliable but then sets hard after a short while. The chip does not quite reach the start of the groove but I am afraid in time it might develop a crack that will spread inwards. Hence the need for this fill in. Has anybody on here had experience of what I'm attempting to do and can they offer some advice. All suggestions will be warmly received. Constructive suggestions only please. :o) Thanks.

Okay, I've read all the postings on this topic and nobody has considered the possibility that the seller might be ill (swine flu) or on holiday. The situation is made more excitable by the fact that you've won a good record at a cheap price. My advice would be to give the seller more time and try to calm down.

Hi Tommy, Yes, I seem to be okay with stuff up to about 1974. Not sure what year this one was released but it IS one of my all time favourites. No chance you have a 45 of this? Dennis. One of my favourite tracks but only have it on the Lp. Would much prefer the 45 if I can track one down and that's if it exists at all.

Yeah, my pal Kev found a minter less than a year ago at Spitafileld Market for £1. Sadly sold it for a large amount the same week before I had a chance to find out about it and buy it off him for myself. FCUK!!!

My "more sought after" comment really referred to the AMAZING price fetched for the UK release. Wouldn't dream of arguing with you on the Backbeat being rarer. Partly 'cos I'm not that knowledgable on US imports, except perhaps the R&B stuff.

And strangely, for once, more sought after on UK than US. Not that I'm complaining, I like it that way.

Having said that, it doesn't mean it wasn't released in the UK, just that it's valued at less than the UK Record Collector Price Guide minimum of £4 I think it was back in 2000? Personally, I don't think it got a UK release but this is just a quick but not necessarily accurate way of checking. Thanks again.
