  1. Well Stevie, I was one of those exceptions to the rule then. I, for one, thought it was great, especially the record bar(s). And as for the music? Well, all eras have / had good and bad records so, like somebody else said earlier, those bad records served a purpose at the time, defining the way forward by excluding them. ( I like that ). Denbo.
  2. Hi Ste, Nah, believe me, there were plenty of people that attanded the Wheel, well Whitworth Street at least, that also attended the Casino, I was certainly one of them at 22 years of age, and nobody called me "grandad" And as you postulate, a lot of us drifted there as a natural progression and as other clubs we attended faded away, eg Blackpool Mecca, Golden Torch, Up The Junction, Catacombes, Leeds, etc. Also, what filled the dancefloor then, didn't always translate to what was being collected, well not by me anyhow. On the contrary, it was during the early Casino days that I picked up a lot of what got played at the Wheel on UK labels missing from my collection, and all at rock bottom prices. In fact, I used to have people bring me records I was after from the earliest days of the Wheel on Whitworth Street, for pence not pounds. Aaaah, them were the days. But to answer your final quote on the subject; yes, I would also guess that for many others of my age and older, the Casino probably spelt the end, at least for a while. But sadly, for others, perhaps forever. Denbo.
  3. With same B-side as the original? Coloured or black and white? Any chance of a scan?
  4. Sorry for asking but was it re-issued?
  5. Can anybody enlighten me regarding the two colours that this label seem to have released? Apart from the white Demos, they seem to have released some with a light green label and some with an orange label. And some have been released in both colours. Any advice / opinions welcomed. Does one represent a reissue of the former. In othere words, are green labels originals and orange labels reissues?

Ooooh, what a record!! £250's a great price, depending on condition.
  7. But is it worth $80? Anyhow, Ste won't pay that much. He'll wait and find one on eBay (eventually) for about $7. Seeya soon Ste. Maybe at the Hideaway / Radcliffe. Defo at the Rhythm Shack on the 4th December, with Guest DJs Dave Byrne and Steve Crooks. Just a little plug there.
  8. Dave, they can be powered from mains so when buying from abroad make sure you ask for a UK plug otherwise it'll cost you another £10 for a power adaptor.
  9. My pal and I thought about that whilst we were at their HQ in Louisville but we don't have the funds to do it so we gave up on the idea almost immediately. But good luck to you Mark, hope it works out for you. PS - Have you heard from Kevin yet on his middle eastern walkabout with Guy?
  10. I may not have kept a copy but I'll check my memory stick tomorrow, gotta dash right now. Or, I could just summarise and say it's got "UNBELIEVABLE TEKKERS"
  11. I offered a review based on the one I purchased whilst in America last month direct from the manufacturer but so far Urban Outfitters have not posted it up. My review might have helped their sales as it was more than positive. Oh well, their loss I guess.
  12. Wow, no comments whatsoever???
  13. Has anybody noticed this before? Same record. Same label and catalogue number. Different titles. Does anybody know anything about this anomoly?
  14. The Italian one looks the best, especially if being used in a flyer.
  15. Has anybody else noticed how the Dutch and the Italian picture sleeve photo of Rocky Roberts are slightly different? He appears to be sitting more upright in the Italian photo.
  16. Now THAT I understand. Thanks Ken.
  17. I don't understand this? Plus, the copy 'steveluigi' has posted up looks like it's had the 4 prong centre pushed out, suggesting it might have been a UK release after all.
  18. Let's see it then. Or is there a link to it elswhere? Hang on . . . found the link.
  19. Guess that's why he wants 'em?
  20. Well, like I said, keep me posted, as I'm happy to cough up another £tenner if it's needed. But give everybody a chance. They probably haven't seen your posting yet. I can take a peek at SS on and off throughout the day, for others it might not be so easy. Having said that, come on people, if you've not donated before, do so now . . . . . or when you next login and read this.
  21. Oh, okay. But let me know if your request falls short of your needs and we'll take it from there. Denbo.
  22. Released in the UK on a UK label? What label was that? STIBBE? Is it in the Record Collector Price Guide? What's it worth on the UK label?
  23. I'll donate another £10 Pete. How do you want it?
  24. Also try Roger Banks. I'm pretty sure he stocks them too. And your money will be going to a Soulie.
  25. Yeah, no probs Keith, I was just reiterating whilst trying to get my point across. I only collect the 'flat back' G font style on TMG releases and am trying to complete my attempts at having the first one hundred with that font style. I MAY attempt to do the same from 600 to 699 once I've completed the first one hundred. I am looking to obtain the following TMG numbers, with the original 'flat back' G font styles. If anybody can help, please PM me. TMG 509 TMG 518 TMG 520 TMG 521 TMG 522 TMG 529 TMG 544 TMG 549 TMG 551 TMG 557 TMG 572 TMG 580 TMG 587 TMG 589 TMG 593 TMG 599 Can't be sure 'cos I'm not at home but my palmtop computer suggests that I have original 'flat back' G font styles on TMG's 650, 662, 669, and 699. Will confirm that at the weekend, one way or the other. Cheers, Denbo.
