  1. There you go then Mel, you'll not do much better than that from my pal. Some great tips there. By the way, you know Tony Brookes who runs Burscough? Well I'm sure he was over that way for his hols this year. Have a word with him too. He's on here and may well read this. If he does, I'm sure he'll chip in with some advice. That's if it hasn't all been covered by Tony already.
  2. They're BOTH great!!!
  3. That's why I'm asking Bob, I'm sure Simon is confused. Hardly surprising, considering his records are flung far and wide. But I hope he's right, would be interesting to add a new one to my Foxy label discography. Whilst we're on the subject, you don't happen to have a Foxy label discography of your own do you? I'd love to fill a few gaps in mine.
  4. Bloody hell Tony, when are you going to invite me round?
  5. Okay. Thanks.
  6. Hi Simon, Thanks for getting back so quickly. It's Ady that's asking for the scans but I'm not sure if he wants this one. He might do though, pending the results of this enquiry. I'm the one who's asking about that record on Foxy, as I have no record of that title in my Foxy label discography. Having said that, I only started compiling it a week or two ago. Who's it by? Denbo.
  7. Simon, We didn't understand the last part of your posting where you wrote; "also you mentioned the foxy lable do you need that thing called your love makes me lonely ?" Could you elaborate please. What's this Foxy record you're referring to called 'Your Love Makes Me Lonely'? Denbo.
  8. That just leaves me then. Now that Jimmy's sorted, can somebody help me out, please? Cash waiting. PS - I'm happy to trade as well.
  9. I'd be interested in a copy too . . . . after mick's been sorted of course!!!
  10. RIP Bob Babbitt
  11. Where are you located? I think that might help your sale should somebody be looking to pick it up in person. :-) I'm slightly interested but I think the timing for me is not quite right. :-(
  12. Good on her. What's her name . . . . ? ;-))
  13. Back of the queue Jimmy ;-))
  14. Didn't that annoy you, that they didn't reply?
  15. I'd be interested if it was a British release. Anybody got a British copy for sale? If so, please PM me. Thanks. Sorry chickenbucket to high-jack your thread but at least it keeps your thread up near the top. ;-))
  16. See you found a Steve Arlen. Well done. As you say, best version by a country mile. :-) Have you kept a copy for yourself?
  17. Correct. Very reminiscent of Bobby Bland. Beautiful record.
  18. I had one record sent to me with just a 2" x 1" sticky label stuck to the record label with my address on it. No packaging, that was it.
  19. Hi John, and yes, it's Dennis. Thanks for getting back to me on this one. It's good to know now the names of the guys who put that cassette tape together, or should I say reminded. Of course, I remember your names now but not your faces. We perhaps only ever met once or twice and that will have been via Nick Cowan no doubt. I really must dig that tape out again, it's well overdue another listen. Hope it doesn't snap on me after all these years of being stashed away on my shelves. Yes, I was, and still am to a lesser degree these days, a UK label collector. If by big you meant UK only, then yes I was. What with me collecting mostly R&B these days, I'm now much more into collecting US labels as most of what I'm after these days didn't get released over here. I still collect UK labels and it's still a thrill. We never grow up us blokes, do we? Where are you living now? Where's Colin at? I'm hoping Nick's still teaching at the Bluecoat 'cos I need to get back in touch with him. I'm living in St.Helens now. Anyhow, it was nice hearing from you. Perhaps I'll see you out and about sometime? Regards, Dennis.
  20. Ha Ha Ha, I know what you mean but as a collector of instrumentals, I love this one to bits.
  21. I love using contractions wherever I can, but a double contraction like the above, I'll admit I've never used, or even ever seen before.
  22. That's right, I have a copy of the Lp too. Got that before picking up the 45 and ended up keeping both. Incidentally, WAS it ever released on US Verve, or in the US at all?
  23. Did this record ever get a US release? Only ever thought it came out on British Verve. And all the copies I've seen to date have been pink Demos. And very nice they look too. But, has anybody ever seen a black Verve issue?
  24. That could cost you a few bob in the process, without any guarantee of success. But I wish you well.
