  1. Dam!!! I used to have a load of those when I first started collecting, they were brilliant. Then one day, they disappeared. Still got my records but where the hell the boxes go to is anybody's guess. Hey, hang on . . . that's mine.
  2. Aah, I see now. Clever.
  3. But don't they slide off each other if slightly knocked from one side? What with raised corners in contact with raised corners. ie not much actual surface area. Just sayin' . . . . . .
  4. In view of your last comment, I checked out the Swan website to look at how they might be stacked. I can see that the handles drop down into a slot that would keep them below or flush with the top surface of the box. However, won't the protective metal 'bumps' on each corner, top and bottom, keep you from stacking one box on top of another? These 'bump's would surely cause the boxes to slide off one another if you attempted to stack them.
  5. Thanks. But strange? The website I accessed was subtly different.
  6. I have a couple of Blacka Acoustics 7" record cases and am looking to buy another direct from them. I've tried to find them on their website. Can anybody send me a link direct to these 7" record cases, 'cos I sure as hell can't see them.
  7. Then there was the time when I went to see Lee Dorsey at the Liverpool Ice Rink. We were all bopping away on the ice wearing skating boots. Then, during the interval, the show was in two parts, or we managed to hang around for the second show, I can’t remember which, I was standing at the bar, having a drink and chatting with Lee Dorsey, towering over him, as he was only a short guy to start with and I was still wearing my skating boots. It was weird, there I was, looking down at this guy I idolised, looking up at me like he was a midget, chatting away together like we were in some local pub discussing the days football results.
  8. Aah yes, The Knightsbridge. Very sad news about the TMG Demos.
  9. There were other clubs in Liverpool playing early 60s Soul music, some putting on Live Soul acts, as well as The Mardi Gras, Cavern Club, The Victoriana, Hotsy Tosy's, etc, like The Iron Door, The Sink, The All Fours (best draught Double Diamond in Liverpool at the time), Reeces, Ugly's, The Pyramid, Pink Parrot, Cabin Club (still going to this day and still owned by the same family as when it opened back in the very late 50s / very early 60s) The Babaloo, plus a few others I can't think of right now. Then in the very early 70s there was Livingstones, which had from day one, an 'open decks' policy to encourage 'collectors' to come out and 'air' their records to a very enthusiastic audience. Met my best mate and eventual Best Man there, Frank Jackson R.I.P.
  10. Still searching
  11. Sorted now thanks.
  12. If handled properly, using a decent stylus, balanced correctly and all that, probably the whole of your lifetime.
  13. Anybody?
  14. But let's say you've got a photo of the one you sent, you could then show ebay / paypal the difference with a photo taken of the one that was returned, thus proving your point. Surely ebay / paypal would then come down in your favour?
  15. But don't you only give them a refund after they've sent the record back? And if the wrong record arrives back, then you report it to ebay and withold the refund? I don't know, I'm just asking the question.
  16. What kind of people are we dealing with here? Who does this? I mean, sending back a different printer? It beggars belief!!!
  17. Sorry if I missed it but what are their eBay user names? Les Harris = ? The Count = ? Thanks.
  18. Please PM me with condition and asking price. Will pay by PayPal.
  19. DON'T BELIEVE IT, I'VE JUST missed one off a new friend. So, STILL after a copy. Please PM me with the usual stuff, condition / asking price. PayPal ready and waiting.
  20. I had a package delivered once with a tyre mark diagonally across one side. Before I opened it I just knew the record inside was broken. I took the package to the Post Office to ask how I should claim compensation. After some debate with the teller, I asked to see the Duty Manager. I showed him the package with the tyre mark across it and the broken contents, to which he said, "What makes you think it's our fault?" You couldn't make it up. I've kept the package for posterity. I'm thinking of getting it framed.
  21. "That record's as good as anything I've heard before"
  22. Please PM me with condition and asking price. Can pay immediately via PayPal. Thanks.
